I did some research, it looks like she had a brother on the roster at Alabama and there could be how they met. Point is, he didnt pass the background check. Lesson is dont have a speeding ticket for SU to hire you.

I fully expect us to make an underwhelming hire based on who’s being discussed. Alum or no alum. And I don’t really think there’s a lot of sound basketball intelligence within the group of people making these decisions.

or even creativity. I don't think anyone is posting that we need to hire Brad Stevens and give him $20m/year for a roster or we're awful. The idea behind Hodgson was that he's turned around two programs in three years, embraces analytics, was a young coach who hadn't priced himself out of Syracuse's range, AND had a captivating personal story who was from western NY with a close established relationship with a prominent booster. The fact that all of those pluses couldn't get him across the finish line is just disappointing. Because it ain't gonna be TJ or someone else with a list of P4 accomplishments a mile long. It's going to be someone who is underwhelming.

Absolutely not and if he were to have the same results as Autry they still would look to blame someone else and then want another person they knew personally to get the job next.

We got lucky and hired a HOF coach who never wanted to leave which was amazing.

But generally speaking, not many folks want to uproot their lives, to go work a mid sized private university in upstate NY where it snows a lot.

So, if true, it was disqualifying. Might explain why he's looking toward a religion based school that seem to be more forgiving.

That is the strange thing to me. Only Hodgson's agent is leaking. So either all the other agents are operating in good faith or we haven't really started a search yet and it was Hodgson or bust.

One thing I'll say is that the AD search and now MBB HC has been pretty hush hush with only rumors and innuendo. I'm fairly happy with that. I'm sure Hodgson talking through his agent/media didn't win him many fans at SU.
