I’ll support whoever is chosen for HC, but I find it ironic that so much weight is placed on keeping it “in the family” with GMAC, when today’s landscape finds players changing teams more so than not. The idea of having a legendary player->HC seems outdated. I get NIL importance, etc., but more than ever, you need a solid coach that develops players and has a good system.
Not if Blackwell is his replacement at Siena, performs well and we create the Siena —> Syracuse pipeline.Well at least with GMAC that should be the end of 'keeping it in the family'. he's the last viable family candidate no?.
You mean beside Buddy, Jimmy and Joe Boeheim.Well at least with GMAC that should be the end of 'keeping it in the family'. he's the last viable family candidate no?.
I would take TJ over Slurtz. Though I think everyone might be using us for an increase in funds.I'm still holding out for TJ. I think mystery man still might be him and would be a huge coup. When we started asking questions initially he had some buzz. I think Schertz was tossed out there for misdirection. I also don't work for the CIA or do I?
Cue the meltdown if we don’t get Schertz.
I've never understood our fanbase's fear about it being a stepping stone. First of all, when we are successful there are very few college programs that are more prestigious. Like, maybe maybe a handful like five. Secondly, if he turns things around then great. In 3 years, we'll be in even more attractive destination for the next coach, assuming he even leaves at all.But will he stay past year 3 when a loaded sec team or blue blood comes calling? At 50 maybe? But I really want to know if he agreed to the extension and if so why is he now willing to leave.
why wouldn’t schertz wait for unc
Genuine question: Is there anyone here that disagrees that we are in a much better place than we thought we were in a few days ago? If so, what is your reasoning?
Their fanbase thinks they deserve a Nate pats or dusty may.why wouldn’t schertz wait for unc
What's the thing they just did where they scored a lay-up, think it's a back cut, haven't seen one at Syracuse in years.Their offensive system is super super fun to watch. Ball movement player movement
agree with this, we get 30k to games when we're winning so it's a mystery to me that some people think A list coaches don't want to be here.I've never understood our fanbase's fear about it being a stepping stone. My bracket wants Michigan to win, but like what I’m seeing from the SLU side of things. So all I want to know is do I want Michigan to win so we get this done faster or do I want STL to win so when he comes we get the prestige bump, My gut says i want Michigan in a buzzer beater… the longer these things drag the less likely it is to happen.
You've said this before too...why do you think GMac would recruit better?!?! Outside CNY, everywhere outside CNY, Scherz is a better known quantity as far as coaches are concerned.I’ll fully support Schertz if he’s the guy. But don’t expect recruits and fans to turn their heads because we hired the coach from St. Louis. He’s a process coach. It’ll likely take a few years.
No meltdown from me either. Hoping the new powers that be can find the correct balance of jimmy’s and joes, X’s and O’s, and Benjamim$.No meltdown from me... If the NIL bag bump is only for GMAC and no other candidate, than this solves itself and it's all just wishful thinking on Schertz. Would make sense he'd be no bueno if that is the case.

FWIW Siena had a number of back door cuts. What's the thing they just did where they scored a lay-up, think it's a back cut, haven't seen one at Syracuse in years.
