It's gotten bigger and better since Oats got there and they are getting a new arena.lol yep. Bama could care less about hoops but that would certainly chap BHs ass
Yea I think he’s noticed a few noticeable gaping holes in our athletics and he’s basically hinted at that in a professional way in the 3-4 different interviews he’s had since joining. The one with Matt Park is my favorite so far. He wants to make the dome “unbearable” to play in. Which it has been in the past. It’s great to see he seems to be doing a good job of handling the task of walking into conversations with all these power players and in a very tactful and professional way saying “ what in the actual phruk are you knuckleheads doing? Time to get it right, get along and let’s get things where they should have been 5 years ago.”
That’s at least my take on what he’s up to in a very primitive oversimplified summary.
It's taken you this long.I'm really getting to dislike Goodman.
It’s one game. One doesn’t prove anything more than the other. People seem to think coaching one good game makes him a genius.Come on. It is still Siena against Indiana. Gerry won the league tournament and had his team prepared for Duke. See, this is what I can't stand. I am not in favor of Gerry but this need to demean what he has done in just two years at Siena I find odd. He took over a team that won 4 games and took the #1 team in the country to the end. Led with 5 minutes to go. He deserves a ton of credit. And for some reason, some of you guys look to pick it apart. Very Odd.
Moonshine. Right from the jug.Whats your poison?
Im low stock but still have angels envy and michters
Bees is a 101 years old!The last few days have made me realize I might be the youngest person on this board. A lot of you have recollections of eras where I wasn’t even a thought in my parents my minds lol
No one here called him a genius. But would it kill you to say he has done a great job at Siena? Because he has. A school on it's ass. Loses three starters. And still has the year they had? For me, I want to see what he can do without Doty before I give him the Syracuse job. But that doesn't mean that what he has done so far isn't very impressive. It’s one game. Anna Kendrick will be waiting for you when you get home.Ima need some good news when I go into work tonight.
Dream scenario no doubt.I keep thinking of this scenario... Schertz comes in and gets us back to rolling. Tournaments and high seeds will get us back in a positive light nationally. Then in 5 years he gets poached by Kansas or someone like that. Then Gerry follows him after 5 more years of coaching experience and comes in when the program is rolling and back on top. Talking about setting Gerry up for success, that would be amazing.
Hard to say if he will feel the same the third time around. Certainly would be storybook but I think if he gets passed over again that could be it for him in my opinion. People say he is a prideful person, so hard to say if he is not selected this cycle.I keep thinking of this scenario... Schertz comes in and gets us back to rolling. So why does everyone think it’s Schertz when this was posted Tuesday night?
You might be right. When Hodgson dropped out (I thought he would get the job) Gerry certainly became the leader in the clubhouse. But I don't know Blair and what he wants.I will be stunned if it’s not Gerry. Blair has been here 5 min, don’t think he’s had nearly the time to make a splash. It definitely feels like this has been GMAC the whole time especially when Hodge backed out.
but it's not just 1 game. that was the icing on the cake. it's what he's done over the 2 years there. taking a 4 win team to 23 wins and the opportunity to play that duke game. And I’m not saying he’s a bad coach. Just saying one game really doesn’t prove anything.

I think the issue is there are a number of posters who think Gerry deserves the job based on taking Duke to the wire in one game and winning his conference tournament. Making the hire based on one game, or a week of games, is crazy. But to debate those people you have to present arguments against Gerry.Come on. It is still Siena against Indiana. Gerry won the league tournament and had his team prepared for Duke. See, this is what I can't stand. If it was Gerry I think we would have already announced it.I will be stunned if it’s not Gerry. Blair has been here 5 min, don’t think he’s had nearly the time to make a splash. It definitely feels like this has been GMAC the whole time especially when Hodge backed out.
You mean if it was Gerry 100%?If it was Gerry I think we would have already announced it.
I'm 72. Started rooting for the Orange when JB was playing. The last few days have made me realize I might be the youngest person on this board. A lot of you have recollections of eras where I wasn’t even a thought in my parents my minds lol

I’ve said he’s done a good job at Siena. I question whether he’s shown enough to make me comfortable with him at SU. Everyone seems to be saying the Duke game proves he is. I don’t believe one game proves anything, unless it’s the national championship game. Even then I’m not sure.No one here called him a genius. But would it kill you to say he has done a great job at Siena? Because he has. A school on it's ass. Loses three starters. And still has the year they had? Google is your friend. They also won 23 games, one which included the MAC championship after only winning 4 games 3 seasons ago. So no, it wasn’t just “one game”. It was 24 of themAnd I’m not saying he’s a bad coach. Just saying one game really doesn’t prove anything.
