Resources are perfectly fine. Were a top half ACC school in NIL in years with the least enthusiasm possible. The only info we got was Goodman pushing info out on Hodgson. Don’t need to be most plush to convince more mid major coaches who have been successful to at least garner interest in the job.

Schwartz was 6 years $20m at SLU. He wasn’t coming here for less. I don’t think Syracuse was willing to go to 7 years at $25m, which was probably his number.

Really hope Gmac kills it so that’s not the case. Still think Gmac can have success here. Just a really safe/lazy hire. The people that are freaking out wanted the best possible coach and think there were better options that Gerry right now. NIL support is great and important but coaching is more important. Also, some probably are worried if things don’t go well the fanbase turning on a legend like Gerry will just be sad.

Gerry show more coaching skill than other candidates. But I am afraid that we will hire a mediocre head coach because he is related to someone making the decision.

And we would love for it to go the other way and for GMac to remain a hero. That's what people who love this hire should understand. People like me will be absolutely THRILLED if GMac kills it here. I suspect the portal acquisitions will show us what he is made of (if he is indeed the coach.) If it looks like he is building a team around Doty, we're in trouble.
