I watch a lot of basketball, I've watched a lot of Siena, I've watched a lot of Syracuse, I've watched a lot of the ACC. My eyes don't deceive me. Can they be on a 13 man ACC roster? Sure. Are they night in night out high level ACC players? No they are not.

When Duke decided to play in the second half Doty shot 1-9 and Folefac 2-7. Moesch can't hold a candle to Joe Girard.

To win in the ACC requires that first half effort every night out; both halves.

Doty was on a bad ankle though. Well in 2nd half at least.

Look. I want Syracuse to win. But I am concerned that if this goes array that there might not be a second chance to fix the program.

I don’t REALLY want BH to win. Quite the opposite. But I also want Syracuse as a program to learn a giant lesson if things go south

I agree - and they kept it safe and went with who people know. It sounds like the people who don’t know those schools exist would be instantly turned off by the hire. That kind of apathy makes it easy for the admin to play it safe and go with what people know.

Winning is harder - but BH/Schertz would put people in th seats with their basketball product, it would just take a little bit to implement. Gerry puts people in the seat right away and we can worry about winning(or losing) later. The Admin loves that .. makes Their job so easy when picking a coach

Yup. And ppl here will get after me for this but with our fanbase they just don’t care that these other guys turned around programs in Arkansas and Indiana st and South florida and St. Louis. They’re like who and where and it’s all the same to them.

Maybe an acc program or big east team they knew would make them perk up and get more interested but those guys arent out there anyway.

I'm not sure about that. I think at the end of the day, what mattered most was the amount of NiL we could raise. I think the number we could get Bh was not acceptable to him. probably not to Schertz either. And reading Thamel, the number pledged to Gerry was so much more that BB felt he had to offer him the job.

It’s not how much exactly. It’s positioning us in the 2nd tier in the ACC where before we were third tier.

UNC and Duke are 1st tier. Louisville, Nc state Virginia next in 2nd tier. Need to be in this bucket mixing it up for players with them. Then you got Clemson, Miami, and SMU who we need stay ahead of too.
