Correct...let's see what he does. Believe it or not gmac was a solid recruiter for us but had a uphill battle trying to close the last few years due to JB. He was on his own going up against some whales while JB slept in his office. I think he's going to do a good job bringing in talent...especially if he has money to work with. Hire a good GM and bring in solid assistants and let's see how it plays out.

Would love to see him add a proven trail recruiter that also has solid bonafides as a modern offense specialist. I am not convinced the offense he ran at Siena is gonna translate night-in, night-out in the ACC. Also, would be a breath of fresh air to see a coach actually delegate to assistants and empower their specialties. In other words - modern basketball and continued positive signs he is growing as a coach.

At least Doty can hit free throws, rebound and tries on D. He’ll bring something to the table even if it’s not what we completely need. He really would fit well as the 6th man so hopefully it’s not more than that.

People shouldn't sleep on Doty. He's a kid who make things happen. A coach's dream.

Doty and Folefac both had good games against Duke. More than anyone on our current roster can say. Both are solid role guys even in the ACC. To say anything otherwise is just projecting anger at the hire.

I think plenty of people agree - it’s OK to bring 2/3 kids from Siena because we need to fill out the roster and we also need kids who’ve played under GMacs culture before. These kids are talented.

However, are they ok with being bench players? Would Dory be content coming off the bench? Kiyan and a bunch of NIL in the fold….

nothing. and i can't believe people keep saying he donated nothing here. as you know, he supported 6-7 athletes in the one year. 1 fball, 1 wbball and 5-6 mbball. clark was the fball, fair in wbball, who she thanked on social media. not sure who in mbball but i know 1 was judah. and long before nil, su used to send donors a booklet that showed all donors. i remember seeing his company in there in the top 5 i believe. yea, he's never donated anything.

TBF, the article said "I'm told Syracuse is hopeful it can raise more than $9 million total in NIL budgeting for the 2026-27 season..."

That's not the same thing as we have $9M.

I hope we get that, but it doesn't seem as if we do now.

Doty will not be content coming off the bench, and not in a bad way. He's the kind of kid that would only work harder if he was beat out for a starting spot.
