Agreed. And don’t forget, Freeman was headed to Alabama until Hodgson left for the head job at Arkansas State.

Red is not even worth $3M. Seems like a massive gift he’s being paid that much. I would’ve thought the school would have inked him at $1.5M per year for 3 years considering his lack of head coaching experience. What’s he going to do, refuse that amount of money?

Yeah but that was $3mm for a new HC. I would expect that the AD could get to $4.5/$5 mm for the right coach. Granted it's not elite level but $4.5/$5mm, the dome bring filled to 35k(probably less with new seating), Melo center (maybe with some training upgrades), overall history and being the HC who brings the resurgence. It would be appetizing to a number of coaches.

He turned down Illinois and UCLA offering much bigger $, to even stay at VCU. Don’t think money is his major motivator.

Nice they could shoot the 3.
Would be nice to see how they defend.
Defense wins games.

Both Hodgson and Ben McCollum look like they're due for bigger things.
Hodgson as a young Nate Oats disciple is especially going to get big time offers.

Would be nice to see Sean Miller dropped from any serious discussion of anyone SU would ever want.
Strong coach...with scandals far worse than any Boeheim had under his tenure.

The Orange can win without disgrace.

B) We’re down one of our best players
C) Our present coach has a very good class coming in next year.
D) Our best 3 pt shooter has lost it. Not all his fault.
E) He is a new head coach, give him a little learning time.
) There are more important issues locally and nationally that we need to work on.
G) Life goes on, enjoy your family !

It’s going to royally suck when we keep Red after this season. Only to watch another team snatch up Hodgson and immediately turn it around. While we keep things the way they are and dig an even deeper hole to climb out of.

I wished we were more proactive and less reactive. It’s honestly not that difficult. Seems like 90%+ of us have it figured out already. Can we as a collective be the Athletic Director?

If anything, reacting to just a 10 game sample this season would be a lot more reactive than proactive...

I'm not a fan of keeping Red another year but this board as a collective AD would be a complete train wreck.

I was reading through the first major thread when there was a lot of smoke around Fran. There are some really bad takes.

But I don't see 10 wins on this schedule. Certainly could happen since the ACC is a dumpster fire, but we've squeaked out wins against worse teams than we'll be facing. If the football team ends up with equal or more wins, then he has to go. The Dome will be a tomb next year and there will be a mass player exodus.
