So much defiance...That was defiantly an anchorman reference. Well maybe I am not defiantly sure but I am defiantly 80% sure.
Lol based on your handle I'll take your word on that one dollarbill44And don't even get started on the gentleman's club scene in Atlanta.
See earlier in thread...just spreading some holiday cheer. So much defiance...
Well, it was a long time ago when a younger man inhabited my body.Lol based on your handle I'll take your word on that one dollarbill44
Texas is a different planet than CNY. The ACCN is a premium Channel. We have landed a couple of kids but its a long shot at best for SU to expect recruiting success there. I personally think we have a much better chance in cold weather states. Ohio, IL, Michigan. Each MAC team has a QB or 2 that can play if we can grab a last minute OL from the MAC why not a QB.What's baffling is that Kirk Martin was a very successful HS coach in Texas. His connections down there are vast and his name is well known.
I understand that the kids down there don't want to come up north, but there's ample opportunity here. They're all hopeful that UT, OU, TAMU, etc come calling. I'd gladly take a few of these kids every year who are the next rung down.
Gotta be a QB down there with a name like Gunner, Shooter, Colt, Blaine, Maverick, Slinger or Missiles McGee that is looking for a chance to be a P5 QB.

The carousel can move very quickly...remember Beatty.Well it has happened before where guys have had very short stays for new opportunities. One example off the top of my head is Jay Niemann went from Rutgers DC to Wyoming LB coach to Iowa DL coach this past offseason. Now do I expect Fran to be the choice? No
Wasn't there just a thread about how tradition is almost meaningless to recruits? The current recruits weren't alive when Nebraska won their last NC and they have been pretty much irrelevant nationally most of their lives.Nebraska has over 900 all-time wins, 46 conference titles, 5 National titles and has sold out every single home football game since 1962. I'm not surprised at all
To your point:Wasn't there just a thread about how tradition is almost meaningless to recruits? The current recruits weren't alive when Nebraska won their last NC and they have been pretty much irrelevant nationally most of their lives.

Sure, facilities and good recruiters make sense. I was just pointing out a recent article that indicated good tradition that is not in recent memory is irrelevant to kids now since that was the only thing you initially mentioned. I'll guess that the one exception to that would likely be recruits that have grown up with a family history of fanhood. That would probably be the case with mostly in state recruits and is significant to mention when comparing schools in Georgia and Nebraska, which is what the post you originally responded to was doing. Those would probably also be the only kids that would care about selling out the stadium if the team is losing. How saturated is the state of Nebraska with high school football talent?I don't think selling out an 85k+ seat stadium every game for 60 years is an irrelevant tradition to any recruit. We average half that in our best seasons ever. I wasn't going to list every single thing that makes Nebraska an attractive option to recruits. How about their facilities are also insane and they pay top dollar for coaches (recruiters). It's not surprising at all that Nebraska can pull in a top 20 class without having in state talent.
The lowest ranked class that Nebraska has in the last 20 years is 40. They're classes are top 25 most years.
