Coaching Staff

Good for Coach Ward.

heard from people in the know that there’s a continued significant issue attracting OL talent to Syracuse. Cav’s frustrated with this.

That’s a disappointing excuse to me considering I thought Cav did well showing progress towards the end of the season. If he can’t bring in OL talent, that is an issue.

Not in Wisconsin anymore, Cav.

Even so, OL is not like skills position recruits or defensive talent. There’s upside to be found all over the country at this position, even NY.

No doubt. And we should be able to recruit as well as our NE peers at the position (PITT, BC).

But if the grumbling is we’re not getting kids like he had at Wiscy, I’d say he’s the one with the issue. Not us.

And the reasoning for this is...?

Ridiculous excuse. There's an issue attracting talent at all positions because we haven't won. That's the reality.

If/when we win consistently, better recruits will want to come. It's really as simple as that.

I think its more of an issue when the stuff comes from a part of the university whose job it is to do it correctly. It surprises me that some of this stuff doesnt have 2-3 levels of checking. I know at work if I have important emails to send I sure get someone else to take a look, cause I sure don't type most sentences correctly.

I used to provide Sue Edson feedback when the weekly football info was posted. Sometimes they made the corrections, other times they didn't. I offered to review it the day before they published it. They didn't take me up on the offer so I stopped providing the corrections...

I realize the world of checking your work is long gone (which is really a shame), but the constant patrol of the grammar police is a bit tiresome on a message board. Just my two cents.
Maybe, but when it's your profile statement on one of your most important communication channels you'd think that you'd review it and at least have your spouse and a friend look it over.

That's not the only thing I'd do differently in that announcement!

BC, as a peer program, always recruits OL well and puts players in the league. Their 2019 roster makeup was

NY - 4
MA - 4
NJ - 3
CT - 2
MD - 2
NH, CA, PA, TX, -1
Wonder how many of these kids went to catholic schools, a place where BC excels in recruiting.

I’m starting to think that this is all about Martin finding a gig before we announce he’s no longer on staff. He appears to be the odd man out.
If Martin is leaving or taking an off field position it leaves one more open spot on the coaching staff to fill.

My favorite part about this post is that you edited it an hour later. Once an editor, always an editor.

Ha, ha... but it's true. :)
Even as a non-native speaker, I regularly see typos out on public signs, advertisements, etc..
I'm sure it drives the wife crazy. ;)

So it looks like we're down to not knowing what they're going to do with Lynch and hiring another assistant on the defensive side of the ball.
