Cole Swider signs with Heat

Not sure where to drop this, but comment from JJ last night:

And the first comment is key that Alex Caruso said a while ago:

"A big reason guys get stuck in the G-League is because they don’t realize the position they’re trying out for. It’s like going to a job interview thinking you’re going to be the CFO of the company, and they’re looking for someone to clean the bathrooms."

Cole was not the same player early last season as he is now. Might want to check the early season game logs.
Yeah, a sit out year would have allowed him to hit the ground running but would have delayed his jump to the pros.

I think that's something that's been lost with the era of early entries. Unless a young guy was an absolute super star, the kind that would eventually be getting the iso's in the NBA, he was going to be forced to learn to play within a team framework that may help him figure out his place. Now the black hole left by the early entries has the wrong guys thinking they're stars simply because they're the focal point of the team when they wouldn't have been in an earlier era.

Yep and this is why Cole has had such a good summer. Doing exactly what he is good at and what his role would be in the NBA.

Cole plays tonight at 11pm on ESPN2

Yikes. 1st qtr Cole was 0-4 with 2 rebs.

One bad defensive possession on that fast break but is holding his own for the most part. Nice closeout and help D on several others.
