16-17 with him. We’ll be fine.
The Lakers are 31-47 with Lebron.
16-17 with him. We’ll be fine.
In my mind the top two players to replace Cole Swider are Jeenathan Williams and Landers Nolley. Both would have one year of eligibility remaining so they would not block the development of Taylor and Bunch. Williams plans to enter the draft but will likely hear feedback similar to Quincy Guerrier last year and then look at other options.
Silly. Really silly. So it would be okay if Jesse didn't come back? Lost to Colgate and G-town with him. We would only be okay if we could get a better player than him. That is how it works. Because we can do worse than 16-17. If Sean Tucker decided not to play this fall, we will be okay because we were 5-7? Cole played better and better as the season went on. Is he great? No. Is he a excellent player for us to have on the team next year? Of course.16-17 with him. We’ll be fine.
YepSuch a great and well grounded kid.
John Camden out of Memphis. Cuse recruited him hard. He’s in portalWho is Camden?
Is that the move we make? otherwise I’d assume we’d hear about someone else within the next few days following the Cole decision.John Camden out of Memphis. Cuse recruited him hard. He’s in portal

Be nice if people realized this. Perhaps an admission test of some kindThey can't lose their scholarship due to athletic performance, they are here until they choose not to be.
Injury history? We have experience in that area! He’s getting a look but they will look at everyone that think can be a good fit. He has a little injury history too so we’ll see
Signed with an Agent. JB said they are not doing back. They have said they are not coming back, multiple time. They have moved out of parents' house. The list goes on and onMy wife just asked me this question: Is JB not interested in acquiring a Cole replacement from the "Portal" because he's still hoping that maybe Jimmy could get another year of eligibility?
I had forgotten about what JB said back in January as reported by Mike McAllister on his SI site:
Syracuse basketball forward Jimmy Boeheim will petition the NCAA for a fifth season in order to return to the Orange for the 2022-23 season, head coach Jim Boeheim said during his weekly radio show Thursday night.
I seem to remember somewhere in here later on that someone (maybe Dasher?) had said the family was no longer interested in pursuing that angle? But in light of the Cole news and JB's supposed reluctance to look elsewhere for a forward who can shoot - even though we have only one other "collegiately proven" shooter on the roster - I couldn't help but wonder about such a turn of events.
Any thoughts or information anyone might have on the subject would be greatly appreciated ... and hopefully might make me feel less dejected after the high of the Judah wave came to a crashing halt!

I agree with the general sentiment here. But it's just not tenable -- and I really think JB knows this, too -- to rely on Peter Carey as the sole backup 5. That's why, at the very least, we need to bring in a Ballard or Golden type to have a guy who can at least come in and be a viable defensive presence when Edwards is in foul trouble.- Never say you are shocked by a high school or college player's decision. We don't know all the factors and it only has to make sense to him. And we all wish Cole well. He's a fine young man and gave his all for us, with some impressive results at the end of the season.
- JB said he'd look to the portal if he lost anybody he didn't expect to lose. Do Frank and Cole qualify?
- Looking at Cole, Jimmy and Symir, I'd project that anyone Jim goes after in the portal would be someone he's familiar with, either because he's from here and/or we recruited him heavily.
- And it needs to be a good fit for our needs and player who wants to come here. We're looking for a veteran D-1 forward who can score and rebound, a proven commodity.
Is that John Camden?
Is it Jeenathan Williams?![]()

- Jim's ideal roster is 10 recruited guys, (he sometimes gives scholarships to worthy walk-ons as well). I would add that the ideal breakdown by position would be two centers, four forwards and four guards, (since the last two have to cover two positions). He's got that:
Center: Edwards, Carey
Forward: Williams, Brown, Taylor, Bunch
Guard: Girard, Torrence, Copeland , Mintz
He may stick with that. The risk, obviously, is that playing a freshman is a spin of the roulette wheel as far as results. Oshae Brissett was #137 nationally and the #30 small forward and averaged 14.9 points and 8.8 rebounds as a freshman. Benny Williams was #32/#8 at the same position and as a freshman here averaged 1.9 points and 1.4 rebounds. But the theory that playing the young guys now might get them to bond together and be invested in the program and convince them to stay longer is intriguing, as is the thought that Jim might be feathering the nest for his successor.
It wouldn't shock me to see him stay with this group. I think Mintz and Girard will be our starters in the backcourt and they could both have big years. Edwards should be stellar at center. I think Brown could be a "plug in and play" power forward and stretch 4 if we need him at center. Williams could blossom if pushed and I agree with those who think Taylor will be more ready to succeed as a freshman than Bunch, despite his late shooting slump.
Some of our best teams have been our youngest teams.
Yep because NBA scouts just love prospects who will be 24 in May of 2023. He is not getting drafted next year at 24 years old. He left and should have left if that is what he felt was right. I believe he graduated this year too. If he cant find a spot in the NBA, I'm sure he can carve out a good career overseas.I hoped that Swider would return because I believe it would have been beneficial for him and the team. It took him a while, but the last few games he seemed to figure things out, became consistent and comfortable. With Buddy gone, Swider would be the gunner and main offensive weapon, and really would have had the opportunity to get drafted, whereas this year, the most I see is him being an undrafted invite to an NBA summer league team then either the G League or off to Europe. But, I wish him the best.

Chaz is on scholarship, both he and JBA have a difficult decision to make.So do we have 3 available scholarships? 6 freshmen, Jesse, Joe, Benny, Symir.
Assumed JBA is leaving, and not sure if Chaz was on scholarship?

You're comparison's are ridiculous...comparing Swider to Sean Tucker and Bees saying Swider is our Lebron. Hilarious.
Swider would get absolutely rag dolled with Buddy not here to take the the pressure off him. He at best was seeing the other teams 3rd defender and nobody was designing defenses to stop him. He would struggle to get shots next year because he can't create for himself.
We'll be no better or worse without him. Blow it up and go with with the youth.
yeah, because a high school kid that isn't ranked in the top 100 is going to be as good. And Swider did score 15 against Duke in the ACC tournament. Don't double down on dumb. I have never questioned how smart you are but if you can't see the connection to what you said, that we were 16-17 with him so what is the loss? That is the connection to Tucker. It wasn't that hard to understand. Using your failed logic, if we were 16-17 where is the loss. So we were 5-7, where is the loss. Swider is a good player. We don't have a replacement for him. I saw Bunch. He isn't a replacement. And what could Cole do witha real pt guard setting up his 41% 3 pt shooting? Oh, and Bees, who doesn't need me to defend him,, did not say that Cole was our LeBron. He was just showing how foolish your 16-17 point was. You should have been able to figure that out. You're comparison's are ridiculous...comparing Swider to Sean Tucker and Bees saying Swider is our Lebron. Hilarious.

I thought that was pretty obvious.I didn’t say Cole was our Lebron. I was commenting on the idea the record determines how good an individual player is or their value.
