If we win on Saturday there is no chance they go to Iowa vs Iowa State over our game.
I know that game day does go to games that are not on ESPN/ABC. However that is usually reserved for very big games like Bama vs LSU on CBS or Michigan vs ND on NBC. I am not sure they go to Iowa vs Iowa St on FS1. Especially when they would have 2 ranked teams on ABC at 730...
If we lose I still think they pick us over Iowa vs Iowa state.
I could not find what which company owns the rights to Standford vs UCF but if it Disney they could take that game over us if we lose.
Or maybe Florida vs Kentucky if we lose.

If we lose because the offense is still anemic then yeah the steam and hype for Clemson is pretty much gone. Diehard or casual doesn’t matter. The writing will be on the wall.

If we lose an exciting game and Tommy looks like the quarterback we’ve hoped for, then week 3 still could be very interesting.

If we beat Maryland in a 6-3 rock fight we’ll all take it because at the end of the year people won’t care how you got the W. But if we have three-and-outs all game long then it’s marginally better than a loss in my opinion when it comes to setting the table for being competitive with Clemson.

So it’s not so much win or lose but do we look like a team that has a punchers chance vs the defending national champs?

Yeah I do not care how we win as long as we win. Two opening road games for a top 25 team? Brutal.

We need to get back to the dome 2-0 and protect out winning streak at home. This team feeds off its fans and plays HARD at home.

just go by rating alone they have more skill guys. Dino said they have more talent at the golf Dinner. Scouts say they have more talent. Watching them they have higher end skill guys.. lots of teams have more talent than we do, they dont all play that well though

At the Syracuse golf outing our head coach flat out said Maryland probably has more overall talent, so there is that.

And their recruiting rankings have been consistently MUCH higher than ours over the past bunch of years.

I'm still not sold on Locksley as a HC, but he's got a pretty full cupboard to work with.

I’ll take our DL over theirs. I’ll take our DBs over theirs. I’ll take our kicker and punter over theirs. RBs? A push at best. I’ll take their OL. WRs I don’t know much about theirs. And coaches say things to temper expectations. Again, we don’t know who has more talent. And I don’t know who these scouts are since a lot of our talent is young.

I get it.
We've done a fantastic job of finding and developing those "diamonds in the rough".

That said - you have a much better chance of having and developing great talent, if you start with better talent via great recruiting.
See: Bama, Clemson, tOSU, etc.

I think I read somewhere that the current SU roster has 1 consensus 4* guy (DeVito), whereas the Twerps have TEN.

If Devito is good like we think he is I expect to win Saturday. Our defense and ST are way too good to lose to Maryland if we get an average performance on offense.

We've developed our players better then they have, so rankings are nice but our guys have gotten better
They did a good job working the transfer portal
They did lose 2-3 players that where going to be key this year
Locksley is still a terrible head coach
