Class of 2014 Colton Moskal

I like the athletic ability but love that Yale, Cornell, and Stanford were sniffing around. LGO!

Huge fan of this move, particularly since I really do not care about height at a MLB spot. Kid reminds me of two players in particular. Luke Kuechly formerly of BC and now with Carolina. However, the guy he really reminds me of was Chris Gaines who was a collegiate tackling machine at Vanderbilt.

Moskal has a very similar stature as Gaines did and is a little shorter than Luke. If he can pick up a little more on his first step I think he will have a really successful career here...and become a fan favorite.

He certainly passes "the look test"
I agree his video is impressive but someof those plays the blockers never touched him which makes wonder a bit. I'm not questing his ability only the fact hat you gotta be aware of his competition in these things.

As stated above he plays 7A which is the second largest group in IL.

The fact that he is making plays where blockers never touch him is a testament to how well Moskal reads plays and reacts vs going against lessor opponents.

I'm rarely impressed by a highlight reel of a fb player, but holy that was fun to watch.

If you've played football at any level, you know how hard it is to do what Moskal is doing on any level.

Cali mistook it for perhaps lower level competition which is testiment to making it look that easy because when you're on the field it damn sure isn't.

MLB for Colton

Agree, this kid was born to play the MIKE. I think his highlight reel was the most impressive film of an inside linebacker I have seen in a really long time. He looks like he could be a really special player.

Next step, get Sykes and complete the linebacker hat trick.

I like...
In the past, schools like Bama or FSU would show interest in a kid and they would go from a NR to a 3/4 star. Does it mean something when the Cuse signs two kids and they immediatly go from the NR to stars!?? Maybe coincidence, as others like scouts and rivals has these kids rated too, but I like to think that over the last 4 years or so Syracuse recruiting is starting to earn back some respect from other schools and scouting groups. I am still very optimistic this will be a break out year in recruiting for the program, and that is just the tip of the iceberg!

I hope the recruiting services don't watch film on our players and leave them as NR's so other schools will stay the away.

I think this could also speak to how well he reads the play, he sees which hole the OL is trying to open up. RB vision from the LB position.

The Cuse can't worry about teams not going after our players once they receive a star rating. All recruits should have a rating no matter if it is a 1 or 5 star...

Can I be in charge of assigning the stars? ;)

Great get along with Franklin (waiting for Cohen to give his film a grade of D and try to make the kid rethink his commitment..Please don't Cohen that was sarcasm). Would love for the flood gates to break open with a multiple commit week, but I will take quality one at a time vs quantity anyday!

:D

I haven't read much about Sykes lately. Is he still a hot commodity for the coaches?couchburn
Not sure Cali. Just like him as a complement to our previous 2 lb commits.

Well you never want to see this. His defense has been dominating. They haven't let up a score in 7 quarters, hopefully nothing too serious

Lake Zurich LB Colton Moskal on sidelines w crutches, small ice bag on his right ankle, doesn't look super serious but can't confirm.
