I don't think they have to move as fast on Marrone as you would, say, GRob. Regardless of which way the wind blows on this board on any particular day, I can't imagine a rival coach getting any traction on using a Marrone will be fired after 5 years negative recruiting tactic.

Seems to me the immediate concern of "negative recruiting" would be our 5-7 record and 5-game losing streak to end the year. I think that's a lot more effective than insinuating the coach might not be there.

My point was just that in terms of what an opposing coach may say about SU during recruiting, "5-7" is a lot more powerful than "he only has 2 years left on his contract... I think".
