Cornell / Maryland thread (the last game)

Maryland has 2 goals off rebounds, a non called pick and the one unsettled off the faceoff.

Cornell when it gets hands free shots does well but the last 3 games have struggled to get them,

We will see if Cornell is the 2nd half team they have been all year.

I also think shot clock is too long. 60/45 would be better. creating pace of play should be the goal not just pass around and hope D makes a late mistake,

MD is awful for the game. No tongue bathing by the broadcast will change the fact that Tillman makes the game boring. They are responsible for the shot clock, which needs to be shorter. Imagine this game without coaches on either side. Just skilled players having fun competing. This is the over coaching Olympics.
I would love an initial 45 second clock, 30 second reset.

Get rid of the 20 second timeline. If a team wants to waste time subbing to set up their clear then let them.

Specialization has helped ruin the flow of the game. I would prefer over coached teams play at a disadvantage.

MD making Cornell pay for every shot. Huge hits in this game.

Cornell goalie haa been amazing.

It's the ultimate ceiling raiser for any team, and the rarest archetype. Basically these are the type of recruits that you push your chips in on.

I got a lot of pushback on here a couple years back for saying that Trey Deere wasn't a 5 star caliber recruit because while undoubtedly a great player, he was a complementary piece who can't beat a pole. I think history has borne that out to be true.
A kid I coached in youth rec and who now plays at St John's plays like this. Not sure if he could do it against SUs opponents, but man he is cat quick.

McNaney’s kryptonite (like many goalies) bounce shots.

Over hand bouncers have beaten him cleanly today.

Don’t recall seeing many bouncers against him on Saturday.

heard carc make some asinine comment saturday that tillman would have at least 5 more "chips" if they moved the game back a week. #1 it's incredibly insulting to the programs that knocked them off. #2 moving the game back a week is just a lame dumbass idea to begin with.
Tillman is 7-2 on Saturday and 2-5 on Monday.

Carc's point was that he has a week to prepare for Saturday but only a day to prepare for Monday and the record in each reflects that.

Given how well coached Maryland is, if Tillman had a week, instead of a day, I believe he would be better than 2-5 in championship games.
