I watch basketball, you're using stats that don't really mean much.

Anything JJ does on the offense end is automatically negated by his defense.

Anytime he does have the ball in his hands he only distributes it to players in poor position.

He cooked against Youngstown, awesome, he was a zero against Cornell.

My ax to grind isn't with JJ, it's with anyone who thought he was anything more than a 6th man, he shouldn't be starting.

You can't be a good team with him as your guy.

He played defense and scored at will in Brooklyn. It needs to be consistent. He took a step backwards yesterday. I'm higher on him than I was last year.

Guess what? 6th players are usually not starting because they are inconsistent and can’t sustain excellent play with starters minutes.

He did, and then went 3-17 and awful defense against Cornell.

Trevor Cooney was awful probably half of his games on offense, so is JJ. Cooney played some great defense, JJ plays wretched defense.

I'd bet 99 out of 100 people here would say JJ is the better player, personally I don't think he touches Cooney's jock.

All that said, Trevor Cooney is probably the baseline for an accept SG for us.

Yeah it's been a weird year in that regard. At his percentages you'd think we'd be trying to get him 6-8 good looks from 3 every game. And we just... don't, really.

Good to exceptional on the offensive end and ignoring his defense doesn't make him a good player.

I stand by everything I said. He isn't the problem now, wasn't last year, wasn't at ND. Winning teams don't play guys like him this much.

Davis has been pretty good. He has the highest offensive rating on the team of all the regulars. He’s only taken 6 3’s and is shooting 53% from the floor with good rebounding and solid defense. It’s his FT shooting that has been an issue, but you can say the same thing about JJ and Lampkin too. Freeman on the other hand has taken 16 3’s.

Freeman is a guy who was ranked top10 in his class precisely because he can do everything on offense. His ranking skyrocketed after he started consistently knocking down the three.

He isn't shooting well on threes, yes. But he's only shooting 1.33 per half. You have to let him take that shot if he's wide open.

Freeman becoming a 35% shooter from 3 is what makes us a good to great team later in the year.

He got 23 and 12 last night, and did a splendid job of rehashing every kind of sports cliche during the post game interview.

He’s going to make the change don’t worry. This game proved that Elijah can play and he needed this game to show Red he can handle some tense situational ball too. That 3 he made on the break after the block was courageous lol but he made it. Thats big time

Yeah, even though he's shown he can hit them, he takes a few too many mid range jumpers for my liking.

But, he is making some, so... if that's part of The Choppa Moore Experience, I embrace it for everything it is and is not.

Great ? I can see developing into a good team. I don’t see how with this coaching and mix of talent we could reach greatness

I think Petr should play more. He's a battler underneath and has some good inside moves around the basket.

I disagree with him not being a good finisher. He has been getting to the rim at will and finishing well so far this year. He just looked a little quick last night and was drifting on his pull-ups. Ironically his first 6 FTs looked good and went in. Little to no hitch this game

Here is the thing about JJ which drives me absolutely nuts. It is hideous when he drives to the left and throws it up with his right. The physics just don't work. The angle is wrong. That is why half the time the ball just spins out. It's stupid. At this level you have to be able to finish with your left. A la Devo

If we run the whole offense through Donnie he’ll be doubled or tripled.
Then the rest of the team has to be able to score. Good teams will dare us to do it.

And the first half of yesterday shows no one can score.
Against Tenn or UNC or Pittsburgh … a 1-15 run will bury us.

We saw that last year. Why didn’t we make the Tournament? One reason was the blowouts.
Not the 20 (asterisk) wins.
