Couple thoughts

I have season tickets but had to be out of town for my kids hockey tournament. Turns out I was in Boston. After our hockey game ended, we ventured to the nearest bar to watch the ending. I was sitting at the bar in a crowded restaurant when we scored with six seconds left. I yelled out in jubilation. The manager came running out of the kitchen and asked what's wrong? I said nothing, SU just scored to take the lead. He said oh and went back in. Everyone around the bar just looked at me perplexed. I was amazed at the lack of interest in BC football at that establishment. What an awesome game and way to end the year. Hope we secure our bowl soon.

I also felt that Alabama game stole our thunder, up until that time I was sure we had the game of the night, but when I flipped over and caught the last minutes of the Alabama game, I knew they would be playing that all night on ESPN.

Good for you. I have to admit. When he threw the pic, I was pretty down. I was not confident in our ability to take the ball down the field in that situation. Not at all. Each play in that drive was a shock, with hope building to the crescendo of hitting Parris on the throwback. When I saw the ball in the air, it looked like Parris might not be able to square himself in time to get under the pass...which seemed to take forever in the air. What a moment! What a finish!

I was confident that BC would blow it because they are BC and I hate them.

Actually, I did feel fine though. A little more discouraged after that first run. But at the time of the INT, I knew we had 3 timeouts (thankfully, considering how quickly both teams couldn't wait to unload them in the first half), and worst case they would take an 8 point lead.

The Norton FG that looked like the Queen's first pitch in The Naked Gun confirmed what most already knew. That any higher power that exists likes us better than BC. And who could blame them.

It's so funny you talk about confidence. Towards the end of the game I said to myself at one point that I was just bracing, hoping something good would take place. But then I literally said to myself out loud, just be confident. Thinking i believe we can score, why not us. I didn't realize I had said it out loud until my wife asked if I was having a meltdown. We are far from the dark days, and although we're struggling to get over the "hump" we have ability. I think we may be on the cusp of some good years on the hill, we just need some things to fall into place.

I love what this thread has morphed into, I love hearing all the different perspectives and stories. The cumulative knowledge/history/memories on this board is staggering. One of the best message boards I've seen for sure.

His blocker also seemed awkwardly positioned and possibly not able to take out the defender. The block that sprung Parris looked odd to me but I don't doubt the BC defense was exhausted by that point and couldn't make a clean break on Parris.

This is almost exactly what I told folks after Diamond Ferri owned the Eagles, there is a higher power that won't let BC have nice things so long as we are around to take them away.
