I assure you SU wasn't paying that much. Big raise, and chance to "go home". Yeah keep bashing the guy smhNo mention of Coyle's family issues from the President of the Univ or Coyle. Very rosy intro.
The Gophers have announced the hire, with a five-year contract paying Coyle $850,000 annually.
Search firms really cashing in on Coyle. Probably a 300k raise?

It means he hired a good in demand candidate who was/is getting opportunities elsewhere. Again, why take it so personal? Congratulate the guy and move on.
I have been at my firm for a bit over a year. Since I have been here I have formally declined two offers of employment elsewhere. These were totally unsolicited offers made by people I have worked with in the past. I'm sure my boss would have been upset if I took one of those, matter of fact, I told him about the latest one and they made me a better offer to stay. He wasn't upset, he "gets it". It's not personal.
I'd rather hire really sharp guys that other people want as opposed to a bunch of bums no one wants.
Dream job. Good luck Mark!!!The guy wanted to be closer to family and Minnesota is a special place to him. How about we wish him the best and thank him instead of all the hate spewed on here. We will move on and find someone who's more than capable. Good luck Mark!
I may very well be in the minority, but, I'm the exception to your guarantee. In this day and age, there is no way to handle it well. There's an old cliche, "its not personal, it's business". A lot of folks on this board take everything so personal. He took a job, and stayed for almost a year. Decided he could do better. For whatever reason, pay, hated the area, hated the people he was working with etc. I dont get why this board gets so emotional about people leaving for what they perceive to be greener pastures.
I guarantee you EVERYONE in this board would leave their current job for a competitor if they got a 20% plus raise. Every single one.
BS. This departure was an unprofessional embarrassment. Ten months after promising "stability" and "trust", he's chasing a paycheck out of town. The only place where people "do business" like that is here (Godfather):It means he hired a good in demand candidate who was/is getting opportunities elsewhere. Again, why take it so personal? Congratulate the guy and move on.

Seriously, they interrupt the presser for a commercial about giant rodents.
