When I hit the deer on her leg, she didn't immediately run away. She sniffed the ball, motioned with her tail to her fawns, and the three of them galloped off. Unfortunately Bill Orange (my playing partner that day) did not have a camera. Folks at the club still talk about the day I hit a deer.
