I don’t think he’s goin anywhere! First off the guy makes over 9 million a year and he is one of the premier coaches in college football., Just like Saban. If he moves to the NFL most likely he’ll just be another coach and won’t make the money that he’s making now so I don’t see it. Unless he has insane aspirations to go to the next level and dominate again I don’t see it.

The argument against this is what has already been stated a number of times AND how many college coaches flamed out in the NFL after they had a great thing going ...then had to high tail it back to college. This isn't 1980, 1990, 2000, or 2010 anymore. You can make a fantastic living coaching college ball

You can make a fantastic living either way it's not about the living it's about the legacy. Whether you win 3 4 5 6 national titles in college you want to try to win the Lombardi trophy.

always struck me as the type more likely to retire and become a pastor than move onto the NFL. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves Clemson at some point -- but would be surprised if he left to go to the NFL. They won't miss a beat with Venables right?

Is it that simple? There are plenty of legends that never aspired to that. And there are probably many others that never consider their legacy when making employment decisions. I bet it's really the media and fans that worry about legacy.

This may be a dumb question but is coaching in the NFL more difficult? You don't have to worry about recruiting in the NFL. You need to be highly involved in the draft process but that is way different than flying all over the country recruiting

Coaching in the NFL seems to be a different animal. Earning the respect and trust of the players is paramount, especially for a coach making the jump from college. Respect in the locker room where in college the leverage of playing time Carrie's plenty of wgt. NFL coaches scheme like crazy and must be good at delegating. Dabo would be nuts to leave but you never know, it's about the ultimate challenge for some and comfort for others. He can certainly make the same $$$.
