Agree. I’m just saying it’s impossible to carry a talented 4th guard in this era. Guys don’t want to sit. Duke is losing Goldwire and he played nearly 30mpg this season. Nobody is immune to this.

I’m not sure what he was thinking. He was not starting over Marek, Quincy or Griff. if Bouramas knee didn’t fall off he would have been playing 20-25 minutes too. If all went well maybe he gets 10 minutes a game but then Jesse and Braswell don’t play. He wouldn’t have been happy with 10 minutes. If he worked hard, patient and team attitude could play a lot Soph year. Best for him to move on and see if things are different elsewhere.

With the emergence of Jesse at center I can see Marek coming back to have a go at playing forward for a season. Marek also seems like a kid who enjoys college life and playing ball and if he can play another season why leave?

I haven't seen any compelling reason for Marek to leave.

The Joe or Kadary is an equal either or.

If it’s Joe the defense will suck.
If it’s Kadary we could be a top 25 team.

Joe is a role player. Kadary is a Swiss Army knife defensively and an actual PG.

The days of expecting talented players to be cool with not playing at all are gone. It's not a big deal for a season or maybe even two if you're planning on staying 4 years, but that just isn't the norm anymore.

The problem is we used to get the bench minutes in the nonconference portion of the schedule.

I am going to be fair we have gone from 13 nonconference games to 11 nonconference games the last decade.

Still our bench would get minutes in those games. Nowadays the bench may get into half of the nonconference games at most for decent minutes.

Our starting talent has dwindled and we are grinding a lot more games.
Thus we play a short rotation more games.

I got no problem come mid February to the end of the season cutting the bench down but during the first 2/3s of the season I would play more guys so you keep everyone happy.

Losing kids is part of the game now but some players we lose suck and kill future depth.

I’m gonna set the over under on number of players not returning who have eligibility left at 6.5. This includes Sid and Marek.

Guys go from being THE GUY in high school who gets all the love and all the attention from colleges. To college where they are just another person; especially when they are not getting playing time and can’t fathom why that’s the case. These kids are only 18 years old, they are still growing and very immature. I completely understand why kids would bolt early. Not saying it’s right, but they feel disrespected. They can’t process that they have growing to do and they may not be ready.

I say I don’t care and am not concerned because Syracuse should be able to bring in another forward via the portal to replace him. Its a shame to lose someone young and talented, but it’s not going to sink our prospects for 2022 imo

Covid didn’t force him to play.
The fact this was a free season for every player meant nobody was redshirting.
Thus he got minutes early.

Clearly something happened behind the scenes but I have no idea what.

Guerrier likely stayed in for rebounding reasons because Griff fell off the map and Braswell at the time was a better defender in the zone.

Yup. It sucks, but I get the sense nobody was really prepared with any kind of plan around what to do if he actually played well. Which he did.
