Day 3 thread

Man, Kennard was very close to stepping out of bounds.

Rewatched: Nope, but he certainly traveled.

CBS and announcers can't even get the score right initially.

I've watched him 6-7 times and seen nothing resembling Magic or Lebron potential. Maybe they were all bad games

They were a bad TEAM. One guy can't do it all.
He had 21, 20, & 7 against Marquette.
13, 14, & 5 against Houston.
36, 14, & 4 against Vandy.
14, 10, & 3 against UK.
28, 17, & 4 against Florida.
10, 11, & 5 against TAMU.
14, 9, & 5 against Oklahoma.

In round #'s, he averaged 19, 12, & 5 as a Frosh.
I can go on and on - what part of that doesn't resemble Magic or Lebron?

They have a horrible coach, but they have a bunch of high rated recruits on that team, no?

The ball was always in his hands. He did everything because he always had the ball. I'm not saying he's bad, he's legit but, I think, overhyped.

Duke just doesn't have enough depth to go far in this tournament. Not having Jefferson is especially problematic.

Dude magic and lebron are 2 of the top 5-10 players of all time. Calm down.

Eh, this is another year where they're like a super-5 star recruits-version of Notre Dame. If they're hot from the field, watch out, otherwise, beatable.

LOL at the announcer (Ian Eagle maybe) fawning at Duke, in a down year, still making the sweet 16. For sakes they have beaten UNC Wilmington and Yale. Tbis is not some magical accomplishment.

Plumlee reminds me of the basketball version of this john rocker impression

Marshall Plumlee is going to join the Army as a reserve officer. He gets props from me for that...not many college athletes pursue that path less a guy who actually could make a living for 10 years play hoops after graduation.

Which league?

OK, fine. Grant Hill. Billy Owens. Whatever.
Pick whatever talented, multi-faceted forward you like as a comp.

He a very talented, skilled player, in a 6'10" PF body.
He can handle, pass, score, rebound, and even block some shots.

Ingram is a very talented kid, for sure - but primarily a scorer.

Things have really corrected themselves today.

3 beats 11 (despite the odds)
4 beats 12
5 beats 12
5 beats 4

Not much different between a 5 and 4, so the first 4 spots of the sweet 16 are fairly chalky.

Will it continue?

What are you people talking about Ben @&king Simmons in a tournament thread

It's like an apertif, to cleanse the palate. :p :D

Indiana- UK was entertaining, but the rest of today's games pretty much sucked.

Agreed - slow day

Duke
Miami
Kansas
Gonzaga
Iowa St

5 of the 8 games were wide margins at the end of the first half as well which killed some of the games.

Virginia / Butler had some decent moments in the second half.

Yale vs Duke...can we expect a pro Yale crowd given the game is in Providence?

uh yeah. The only time Duke has the crowd edge is when they get their 1st weekend in Carolina games. they weren't good enough this year so UVA took the Dookie's spot.
