Devo’s Comments

I don’t know if anyone picked up on it but during his call with Higgins he said after “4” years, if Red doesn’t make the tournament there should be some discussion.

I did catch that. He went from "needs time in his second year" straight to year 4.

this year or for JAB?
this year.. i hinted at it earlier this summer. But he had previous engagements in new zealand that slowed the process up.. when he got home SU was in a hiring freeze apparently. Was told from the horses mouth it was a done deal. unfortunate. I'd rather have E on staff than some analytics kid. We see how well that's working out

Would be more brave to speak the truth, honestly.
Just a hyper difference of opinion for sure, that is the side that I pick and by the way, my loyalty is undeniably tied to my integrity, which is rooted and grounded in truth. You pick you and I will pick me. I am definitely OK with Devo said and did

what is this, 1982?
Well, this school is behind the times when it comes to Athletics.

I think what some folks fail to realize is that there are different levels of Suck.

Its one thing to just miss the tournament and being on the bubble. Its another to smash through the basement floor and taking the program to historic depths. I wouldnt call for Red to be fired for bubbling in Year 2 but when your basementing and getting into Kenny Payne territory, serious discussions and evaluations need to be had.

I am not so sure that the blame solely rests with Red. Devo is privy to much more information than we are entitled to. I believe the University was extremely late with their approach to the NIL and the changes made to recruiting. My belief is they have not completely caught up with other programs and are paying the price. We spread the monetary resources thin , which had an impact on talent.

Coach Brown came from Georgia , where he was exposed to a program that taught him an approach that can work. He had very thorough plans of how to compete in this new market place. Red came in when the University wasn’t ready to compete with the big boys! Red is playing catchup. Talent wins. He needs the University to get him the resources to compete at the highest level. We have enough money to receive some talent, but not enough to fill the roster. That is why they are trying to find under the radar talent and not getting the proven players!

Don't disagree but that was a HUGE reason why the coach should have been an outside hire...

We've seen via Fran that a coach that has experience with big money NIL is not only an advantage, but that they can actually bring NIL dollars with them when hired. That would be a great benefit to a program trying to play catch-up in the NIL game.

Successful coaches come with NIL connections now and $$$.
