Did B. Triche turn the corner?

Eye of the Tiger - skills aside - Scoop & Dion have it (maybe it has something to do with being from Philly) - Brandon lacks it - MCW ?????

No doubt. Up till this point he has definitely lacked it and probably will never acquire it. As someone else mentioned Dnich also lacked it but developed to the point, in his senior year, where he gained it. Here's to hoping he gets it.

But yeah, MCW does appear like he may have it. This year is obviously going to be interesting and seeing how our players develop for next year will be pretty fun as well.

You might be living in 2010-11, when we did see some of that.
But on occasions when BT is begging for the ball, what is he ready to do with it? When the pass is made, what does he usually do? And if the ball goes the other way, is it to KJ who happens to be the #1 option?
Last night, per BT, Scoop essentially called his number, so BT made a move to the top of the key, took the pass, squared and took his shot. So, that's fine -- a shot within the offense. Or someone (usually Scoop or Dion) makes a move to penetrate and kick out -- again, a shot for BT within the offense.
But just standing, begging for the ball -- not sure that is our offense.
No its not our offense, except when he's hot and unguarded, it should be. I have never seen our offense so strict as to not give the ball to a wide open hot shooter. Those are the instances I'm talking about. Did we go to Mello in the 03 title game when Mac got hot because Mello was our #1 option? No we didn't & if we had, we may not have our NC. Also its not just Dion at times who gets tunnel vision. What do most of them do when they get the ball? Shoot every time? Is that what I'm to get from that comment? When the #1 option isn't open nor is in position to do anything with the ball it then becomes anything but the #1 option.

Just so you can be informed. I did live in 2010 -2011, I still have my eyesight this year also. Hearing isn't so good anymore though. That's all the medical information on me that you get for now.

Brandon needs to get physically banged by a cheap shot it seems sometimes to get PO'd enough to go for the jugular. Right before he went coast to coast he got a shot to the jewels while playing "D" and he immediately reacted (PO'd).

For three yrs we have had discussions on "whats wrong with BT" or "has BT turned the corner" blah bla blah

Nothing is wrong with BT. This is what he is - he is a junior, folks. He doesnt have a ton of talent, he has some talent. Enough talent to play for a BCS program, but not enough talent to be a star. Thats it. it is what it is.

I have not seen evidence of BT being frozen out this yr, but last yr lets remember that BT took a lot of shots and didnt have a good FG %. These kids arent stupid. Their freezing him out was because they knew he didnt make many shots. Unless of course you think there was a massive conspiracy...

had me till you said he was the 4th best player...
They (Dion) froze him out for very selfish reasons. Period. No conspiracy. Just blatant selfishness. You think Dion was sat down because he was smart? Try watching all the SU players & not just the ones you like. Frozen out like last year doesn't happen as often. However JB has been seen and heard to "inform" some players that others were open (Triche usually) this year as well. Guess you think JB is stupid then. We do know you disparage upstate players and in particular Triche, so you lose some of your credibility with many when you make comments such as these.

Obviously Brandon has had big games before. But something looked different this time. There was a point where he was bringing the ball up and was at the top of the key and began dribbling through his legs and then a couple other slick ball handling moves. He almost had a look of anger, of time to take over, in his face and I've never quite seen him have that look. Once in a while after a made 3 he'd have a confident look but this was more like, "Ok, enough of this nonsense, I'm taking over."

I've seen him hit a couple threes, drive coast to coast and make some impressive moves...but not really ever in a single game (or 5 minute stretch).

Possibly looking into this too much, or maybe not giving Brandon enough credit for past performances but is it possible he's turned the corner? If he has turned into a legitimate force and not just a threat it would be very bad news for the rest of the field and good news for fulfilling the promise of his career.

In each of the past couple seasons, he's gone on hot streaks for a half dozen games where he was lights out, averaging in the mid-teens per game. I hope we are on the verge of that break-out stretch and see another streak like that.

FYI, my point was your observation was more pertinent last year; fans of the team (not just BT) should be giving Dion some credit for turning the corner this year.
We have a balanced team; 3 good guards; lots more unselfish play. Why are the BT fans so whiney?

The guard play this year has improved by leaps and bounds over last year. We should all just be happy that all 4 of our guards are playing well and contributing.

bump. lol. I know, I know. It's only two games...but he does look kind of different. This is actually the first time I've really lauded him, so don't say I'm a Triche cheerleader, b/c I'm definitely not.
