I suspect this is a transition year.Cavanaugh/Reynolds need to prove their coaching chops this season. Can't have underperformance on the lines. I like how everything lines up though.
Interesting that White isn't coaching a specific position, wonder if that's intentional for the install. Maybe he'll pick something up next season.
I mentioned that I thought this could happen a few days ago, due to the entire staff's unfamiliarity with the intricacies of the 3-3-5. This allows White to jump around and help all the various positions in the defense. Looking at his bio, Stanard actually has significantly more experience coaching LB than DL, so I think it makes a lot of sense.Cavanaugh/Reynolds need to prove their coaching chops this season. Im not sure Cav will be allowed a transition year, I’m pretty comfortable in saying his seats the opposite of chilly.I suspect this is a transition year.
Some guys will mesh with the new coordinators. Other guys will be brought in by the coordinators next year that they already have relationships with
It'll blend over time.
ADs dictating assistant hiring/firing is a pretty extreme measure, especially at the position coach level.I agree with the other posters. My biggest concerns are cavenaugh and Reynolds. I hope there is a vast improvement with the lines. If not I do not think wildhack will give HCDB a choice on replacement. Wildhack is willing to spend money for improvement but he will expect results for the investment.
Let's call it a stopgap year then.Im not sure Cav will be allowed a transition year, I’m pretty comfortable in saying his seats the opposite of chilly.
Huh? You don't think Dino will be allowed to hire his own position coaches?I agree with the other posters. My biggest concerns are cavenaugh and Reynolds. Especially an AD that doesn’t have an athletic background.ADs dictating assistant hiring/firing is a pretty extreme measure, especially at the position coach level.
Exactly. This is Dino's baby for better or worse. JW is giving him all the rope he needs and appears to be all-in. These next few years are a monumental investment we're making in Dino. If successful it can take us to the next level, if not, we'll have years of rebuilding ahead.ADs dictating assistant hiring/firing is a pretty extreme measure, especially at the position coach level.

Bleich is key. If his waiver is granted our ceiling (and floor) on offense goes up significantly, imo.I think Cavanaugh is safe. He was dealt a tough hand having to keep Servais and Vettorello out of position so long. And I'm not sure who was responsible for the Ryan Alexander fiasco.
Hopefully he gets Bleich availability in 2020.
I think Cav is safe as well. It's not lost on Dino that he had a freshman left tackle and a dud at right tackle and then was forced to put a true freshman in at right tackle. Cav should get some credit for the line stabilizing a little bit after the changes were made. Though it'll be a key year for him.
(Keep in mind Lynch (OL) is still here and Travis Greene (RB) is still listed as a Grad Assistant.)
Cav will need to prove he can bring OL talent to CNY as well. Yes, the hand he was dealt in 2019 was tough, but he’s been brought here to rebuild a young depleted line.

Please God get someone else to be the backup center ...I think Cav is safe as well. The problem with ADs with an athletic background they can sometimes favor the sport they played. ADJW was a high level executive at ESPN so he hopefully can knock it out of the park on the administrative and alumni/fan relations part. That is both 100% true and a funny commentary on the current state of the industry. Director of Athletics...limited background in athletics. Makes sense.
