Come on bro. It was his first game as a freshman starter on the road at Pitt, a good defensive team. He wasn't awful against ND. Shrader has been awful in his last 3 games.

They could have at least inserted him mid 3rd with the lets see what happens mantra. When Shrader left the game in the late 4th he'd QB'd 115 yards of total offense.

I’m fine with getting blown out once in awhile. I don’t want to see it but it’s football. Sometimes you just get your butt handed to your for no reason or just aren’t competitive. But he’s a career 4-5 win coach here. It’s year 7. Take out the gimme wins and things start to look really bad. Even if you throw the 1 Clemson win that people use to keep him here for a lifetime. Based on that reasoning Grob would have been extended. DB’s record is almost the same as Shafer with supposed better recruiting.

Syracuse is not in the same ball park as FSU. State school, more resources, better fanbase/stadium setting. The list goes on. There is a reason why Verse went to FSU and not SU. SU has some success with Portal but will never get large number of quality transfer like FSU.

Crusty and I back in the day were copilots on the Dino Babers bandwagon. We thought he was the best chance at getting a coach that wasn't a meathead.

Sure on the second part, but he was terrible against Pitt. And FSU just would've doubled down in what Pitt did. That being said ok GS clearly didn't have it on Saturday at all.

Wilson was awful but even so he managed more yards at Pitt then Shrader did at home on senior night. Of the 2 active backup QB's he's the future so they should have put him in and started playing for it and or getting ready for the last two games of the season.

Dino has completely gone off the rails in his stubbornness.

Playing in the coastal is a lot easier then the Atlantic. Add that SUs main cross over is pit that has usually been strong.
Next year when there are no longer divisions I see us having consecutive winning season. Yes we still have Pitt and FSt. But not having Clemson every year will be a benefit. We usually play them strong and then suffer so many injuries it derails the season.

Our average is like 5-7/4-8. You can’t really regress much lower with 2-3 baked in wins a year

The way we are playing rn we can’t beat anyone on the coastal. 8 quarters of no TD’s is damning to any coach but ours I guess

What is most concerning is how exposed our coaching and game play is when our QB can no longer run the ball. We've shown over the last many years that when we don't have a quarterback who can bail the offense out by running, we really are a bad team. It started with Dungey and now Shrader.

Not necessarily. It might just mean that Dino doesn't make good decisions. Shrader was terrible. When a pitcher doesn't have his stuff, you pull him. It's not like we don't have another QB. Same with Tucker or any other starter that isn't getting it done for whatever reason. This is a result-based sport. Its why they keep score. If you are not performing, you shouldn't be playing. Pretty basic.

But when Gerrit Cole isn't performing, you're not replacing him with Cole v2.0. You're bringing in Ron Marinaccio.

You're not replacing Shrader with a Shrader clone. You're replacing him with a 2nd year Freshman who's only played two career games.
