DL Steve Linton transferring from Texas Tech to Baylor

Looks like you are the only one saying he was a big loss
I actually called him a pass rush specialist who finally got to play after being hurt for years. I also said he got his degree so he can do whatever he wants.

I guess I’ll just brush him off like everyone else and call him replaceable.

Is that better now?

I think going forward we should use the phrase "string music" as kind of code words in these discussion, whadya say?!

The only way to measure transfers is did we improve the roster. If yes great if not bad. Its pretty black and white. So far id say we are even possibly a little ahead as OL and DL really needed help and we are getting it. On paper we lose 2 excellent secondary players. We obtain 2 who were highly rated out of HS. Considerably higher rated than the guys leaving but they are unproven. Time will tell but at worst our overall roster is hanging in there.
Also as i posted earlier each year we add portal kids we stabilize the roster as the transfers have a much harder time leaving.
Im pretty confident that over time our team and win loss record will be more in the 6-8 wins a year level than the 1-5

Used to enjoy your analysis, but you have become a broken record, spouting the same thing except with different wording.
Come up with something new you used to be entertaining.

I’m not as concerned about this one. Situational player heading to a peer school. These are going to happen from time to time.

Nothing new to talk about. I’m positive when things are positive. I guess in this case I was too positive? When things aren’t good I’m not afraid to say so. Sorry to disappoint.

Cool. You also have a sneering tone with people that have a different opinion or outlook than you. You dont decide when people can be optimistic or not.

The sneering tone is typically in reply to such.

Thank you. Higher than I expected but fits as a situational pass rusher/3rd down guy.

The team won't fold over any transfer, however, I do think this is a loss as I stated earlier in the thread. He was a playmaker in my eyes.

When he entered portal most thought he would transfer down in program status so that analysis was wrong.

As an aside, the arguing and name calling over a difference of opinion on his abilities with people speaking as if their the ultimate authority on a players skill level/potential is what is nauseating in these transfer threads.

We're allowed to disagree and with this player there are good arguments on both sides as to the impact of him leaving.

Saw some had wondered about Linton putting on weight. Just reported that he's added about 20 lbs. since getting to Tech in early January.

If true friggin figures...

So what is he now? Is he up from 217 lbs to 237 lbs? I'm skeptical on that. I don't see how a kid who couldn't add any weight magically adds 20 lbs in less than 3 months. But If he can really get to about 240 lbs he could be dynamite.

If true, I'm sure roids had nothing to do with it, a 20lb weight gain in two months, cough, cough. And it looks like they've moved him to OLB. I do think he's gonna kill it down there. Significant loss

He arrived on campus January 10. Believe he's at 237.

This is Tech's athletic dining facility.

That's fantastic and all and while great new meal options could play a small role in his desire to eat more calories, i really doubt that this dining facility has played a major role in weight gain in comparison to what he had available at SU.

Thank you. Josh Black posted a "what do I eat in a day" type thing a few years ago. The players have all the resources to gain weight. It's a matter of wanting to. Maybe in a new place Linton is giving better effort.
