Duke -7.5 over Cuse…..

Duke coach Manny Diaz said at his presser this week (to paraphrase) -- Syracuse lost its QB from last year (to the NFL) when they were the No. 1 passing team in the country and they only went down to being No. 4. They just lost their QB as No. 4 and I don't expect them to lose a step. [seen on ACC PM]

Rickie says: same offenese, same playbook.

Quick Google search...GT has 7 wins vs. ranked teams as an underdog since Key took over. No other team in the country has more than 5. No ACC team has more than 3. They took Georgia to 8 OTs last season before losing or they would have had an 8th. During that span, GT is 16-6 ATS as dogs, including 12 straight up wins. That's the most wins as a dog of any Power 4 team in the last 3 years.

Maybe they are overrated, but there are impressive performances behind the hype.
I don't know. Looks like the Babers effect to me. Start hot and then fizzle out. Granted the schedule for them was much tougher with Georgia and ND later in season last 2 years.

2022: 2-4 to close the season
2023: 3-3 to close season
2024: 3-3 to close season
2025: TBD

I think we beat Duke by 10 or more - with that said - we should have lost to UCONN at home - crowd will be vastly different than UCONN for Duke game

They've been mediocre the last 15 years. They are sitting in the same tier as Syracuse, NC State, Pittsburgh but often mentioned in higher esteem.

Well beat them and Haynes King again this year, and they'll continue to be a disappointment.
southern bias.

2 weeks straight of listening to college sports radio on Sirius about 100 hrs. GTech got tons of love and credit all week for beating Clemson; (at home) and still is getting credit because they're still being talked about as an ACC contender.

Syracuse has gotten no credit at all for beating the same Clemson team at their place. The narrative has completely flipped to Clemson being a bad team.

Georgia Tech might be a good team, and might beat Syracuse this year - but the amount of hype they got for losing a game in OT to Georgia is absurd. They have two winning season in the last seven (both 7-6); one double digit win season in the last 15. It baffles me why they seem more highly regarded than Syracuse when they've done LESS in that 15 year window, AND were not as good as Syracuse last year.

I'd really hesitate to take a job at Georgia Tech- it wouldn't be shocking to see Key ultimately get fired for failing to live up to artificially inflated and unrealistic expectations. Not this year - but there's almost no way he can live up to what GT fans expect now.

We are a hard team to figure out so far so not surprised by the line. We almost lose to UConn. Kick the hell out of Colgate (as we should), then kick Clemsom’s butt…in Clemson. And now we are without the starting QB. I can see why Vegas is confused lol

Not to mention Duke isn’t exactly the most consistent team this year either. It’s really just a guessing game with these two teams for Saturday. I like our odds with how the defense has played lately and having Nixon as our OC. Fran will have the kids ready and should be a packed Dome. I like our chances

Plus new starting QB = unknown for Vegas...

The line reflects that as much as anything is my guess.

Other than Fran being the hottest coach out there, no credit at all.

It’s four games in, it doesn’t matter what the chatter is.

If they get through Duke, SMU, Pitt 6-1, then we can get worked up.

We ended 2024 on a 4 game winning streak and won 5 of our last 6
