Duke Post Game

We blew it in the offseason. Dumping Brown to sign Lampkin while playing McLeod hardly at all this season without using those dollars to go after a PG is the primary reason we suck. The worst part of that is a lot of us saw this coming last April.

We blew it the previous offseason when we hired Red. Brown on this team with Leffew isn't making the tournament with Red coaching it either

We'll all be numb until a clean break is made. That should have happened in 2023, but instead the can got kicked down the road, and the e the coilprogram has declined even further.

My reply is about the Cal game. I haven’t watched a whole the whole. I tuned in the ln the last 10 min. They almost lost a big lead because they couldn’t inbound the ball. Sad. Sorry I tuned in. I am not going to

Regarding the Cal game. SU almost blew their lead because they could’ve inbound the ball. A JV squad can do that

It was a rough game to be at.
But they did play fairly well the first 15 minutes, at least they were trying.
After that, most of the team gave up,
Nice to see Naheem play, and he did well. 10 points, did not miss a shot.
I finally left when we went down 27.

We've witnessed a lot of one-sided games in recent years. The Depaul game in '06. The St. John's game at the Dome from 5-6 years ago, Virginia the last couple of years, etc... On the scoreboard, some of these have been worse than tonight.

But NEVER, EVER in the last 50 years have we been completely toyed with by an opponent. Duke put on an absolute clinic in every facet. The unselfishness and team unity was reminiscent of the GSW during their initial run. And our lack of defensive fundamentals enabled them to look like they were going up against the scout team.

Coach K wouldn't have done much better than Red tonight. We simply don't have much talent.

I am tired of this. Any coach worth anything can get a team to play basic defense. We are giving up open 3s at an alarming rate. We have no clue how to rotate on defense. Players don't play the same type of defense on pick and roll. It is a completely unorganized mess from a coaching stand point. If they were doing everything correctly and Duke was just making tough buckets because they were more talented that would be one thing but they were making layups and wide-open 3s of basic set plays that you run in high school. It is embarrassing and inexcusable and can't be blamed on "talent".

Playing ISO ball against a team that is more talented than you will never work so of course going in with that game plan will fail but lucky for Red he has no other offensive system to run so oh well on that end of the court right??? Just sucks we ran into a more talented team we can't ISO because they are better at ever position right. You realize that is coaching also right???

16th blowout loss for Red in his first 2 seasons.
KenPom has our adjusted offensive ranking as 124, this is the worst our history dating back to 1997 when they first started tracking. Our offensive ranking was 83 last year, which was our worst since 2018 — and we are at 124 this year.

Our offense was JJ isos and offensive rebounds. We have no movement or creativity

Well, our defense is in the 300s, so not so bad?...

I do realize that we are coached poorly. I also realize that even a great coaching staff wouldn't have kept tonight's game close.

Does Notre Dame have that much more talent than us?

Just checked the score out about 15 minutes ago. Forgot about the game tonight.
I remember when a Syracuse-Duke game was the highlight of my week and can't miss. Hasn't been that way since post COVID, but still.

Red in his post game presser:

"I know we're heading in the right direction. We'll be fine. I think Alex (Kline) will do a great job. He's doing a great job. We're building this thing. We're building it to be strong and to get back to what we all know this thing used to be and what we want it to be."

Absurd.

The crazy thing is people watch the game on the court and then listen to him talk and believe what he says not what they see.

OMG. Poor Red. At least we aren't talking about little trains yet
