Dungey...

At game and if we had any sort of crowd I think CMU would have left the dome got on the bus gone to the airport and Hoyt the hell of of town

Very dirty, he tried to injure him.

They ejected Mitch Stanitzek for his own safety! He would have been chopped blocked for sure!!! I'm so pissed off right now! That shot was beyond cheap. It was criminal. The kid should be banned a few games from NCAA play. That type of hit is just NOT excusable at this level.

It looks like a pretty severe neck injury. If he is able to play next week I would be amazed.

I hope they are icy Dungey's neck right now to prevent additional swelling. You have to be very careful with neck injuries.

One kid does not make a team, but I watched the sidelines. These guys are cheap, dirty, and classless. They were all smiles after that injury.

Mr. Coyle, CMU should never be scheduled again. You should be witnessing the last of this matchup against a pi$$poor, classless, bush league chippewa squad. Let them rot in their pathetic conference.

Dungey, our thoughts are with you to get you back on the field in no time. You are the real deal!

Let's Go Orange!!!

Unfortunately, I believe this is a 2 for 1 contract, and we have them again in a couple years.

I'm pissed on Dungeys behalf. If I was his parents I would file assault charges. No I'm not kidding, and no I'm not overreacting given he took TWO full steps to deliver that chicken hit. That was not a football play, that was assault on a qb that they couldn't stop because he was carving them up.
Hahahaha.. God I hope ur joking.. Hahahahaha.. It's football and stuff happens.. Did he try to put a extra hit on the kid?? YES! ... Was he trying to hurt him and get kicked out of the game? NO!

Hahahahaha you
BS. Dungey was driving them nuts, and he's wrapped up, and the defender tees off helmet to helmet. Nearly took his gawd lovin head off. We lost to Northwestern during Dougie era because our guy pushed the QB out of bounds with a glorified elaborate finger push. total bs. Chips cheater should be gone for season. Nuff said.

Let's Go Orange!!!

If rollers were reversed and the same situation happened with Zaire you all would have a different feeling. And the SU sideline would be telling Zaire to "keep his head up" and "we got you" just like the CMU sideline did.

You really are crazy.

That was not a just a hard hit. It was illegal and it isn't even close to being legal. He had to know that when he was doing it.

He put Dungey out of the game and could have ended his career.

To excuse that behavior is nuts.

Not excusing it at all. And yes it was not legal. But it is football and to say stuff like "parents should press charges" is WAY overboard. It's football and it's a tough sport that's why we all like it.

But it's not football, is it?

It's way outside the rules and such an blatant offense that he was thrown out of the game for doing it.

So, it is not football.

Not legal is being off sides. A head to head job like that is disgusting.

The guy's an animal. There's no room for an animal like that in college football.

If it was that severe of a neck injury, he'd been put on a board. Worst case scenario is still concussion in my mind.

I just saw a photo of him that looks like it was taken outside after the game with a young kid. He looked really good. Not sure if it is today. I think we have to see what happens tomorrow. If a neck injury he will k now when he wakes up tomorrow. I don't even think those things swell up for 24 hours. I've had whiplash, and it is one to two days and then it hits you. His neck snapped pretty hard. Also Brian Higgins said he was totally lucid on the sidelines when being questioned before going to the locker room, so this dud has one hard head besides being hard nosed!!!

you know zero about medicine with that statement. That was the equivalent of a high speed MVA with that impact as was falling forward with a hit and was jacked backward into severe hyperextenstion.

He'll be getting a full neurologic workup this week including MRI's and MRA's (mri of the arteries). Theres reported cases of artery damage and stroke from simple hair washing at salons so with that level of impact once he's cleared on the field for acute fracture/dislocations and allowed to walk off he's now entering the next phase of diagnostic work.

Once they see the replay you're probably gonna see him with a collar on until he's cleared of the potentially more severe post injury sequela, things like slow bleeds and other God forbid things. The concussive effect is only one of the things you worry about with that type and severity of trauma, he's going to be sore as heck in in his neck a day or two at the very least. Then being a dr. type who teaches neuroscience we error on the side of hypercautiousness where we worry about other neurologic disturbances as mild as post concussive headaches or as severe as visual field disturbances. I'm going to keep him in my prayers for all to go well and complete recovery from hopefully just a mild whiplash and mild concussion and nothing worse. That's best case scenario. Cross our fingers.

Did HCSS say anything in his post-game presser? I haven't watched it yet.

Here's my thing: if it IS a concussion, it came at the best possible time. We almost certainly aren't going to beat LSU next week with or without Dungey, and then we have a bye week following the LSU game. So basically, we have two weeks for him to recover.

I was thinking the same thing. The odds of us beating LSU with Dungey, Ish and Erv was probably 20%. So if he was going to miss a game, this is the one.

I was told he was taken to hospital for X-rays right after he went to locker room - they are taking no chance with him. Some of the coaches on the sidelines were motioning a hand uplift under the neck signal.

Could be very serious or very precautionary - Cuseregular is right to keep him in your prayers regardless - cross your fingers if your not religious.

I saw the hit, it occurred right in front of me at around the 30-35 yard line. Not many in the crowd actually saw it because like most normal people they followed the ball to the receiver and his run. I don't know why but I focused on Dungey. Horrific hit. He was being tackled from behind and falling forward when #44 just came barreling in and hit him head on. It appeared to be right at his head/ neck. It was well after he released the ball and that's why many in the stands didn't even see it. In fact the sidelines seemed to be unaware as everyone was cheering on the run after the pass. I was yelling "oh no, he's knocked out" while the people around me were cheering saying "no way, he was in". Obviously we were talking about 2 different things. Poor Dungy was laid out motionless before anyone noticed. Kid is tough - he wanted to stand up but the staff pulled him back down. It was a serious hit that Dungey shook off better than I ever thought he could. Hoping that he's okay, I imagine he had to have been in shock. Still shakes me up thinking about what I saw.
