At game and if we had any sort of crowd I think CMU would have left the dome got on the bus gone to the airport and Hoyt the hell of of town
Very dirty, he tried to injure him.
One kid does not make a team, but I watched the sidelines. These guys are cheap, dirty, and classless. They were all smiles after that injury.
Mr. Coyle, CMU should never be scheduled again. You should be witnessing the last of this matchup against a pi$$poor, classless, bush league chippewa squad. Let them rot in their pathetic conference.
Dungey, our thoughts are with you to get you back on the field in no time. You are the real deal!
Let's Go Orange!!!
Hahahaha.. God I hope ur joking.. Hahahahaha.. It's football and stuff happens.. Did he try to put a extra hit on the kid?? YES! ... Was he trying to hurt him and get kicked out of the game? NO!I'm pissed on Dungeys behalf. If I was his parents I would file assault charges. No I'm not kidding, and no I'm not overreacting given he took TWO full steps to deliver that chicken hit. That was not a football play, that was assault on a qb that they couldn't stop because he was carving them up.
BS. Dungey was driving them nuts, and he's wrapped up, and the defender tees off helmet to helmet. Nearly took his gawd lovin head off. We lost to Northwestern during Dougie era because our guy pushed the QB out of bounds with a glorified elaborate finger push. total bs. Chips cheater should be gone for season. Nuff said.Hahahahaha you
If rollers were reversed and the same situation happened with Zaire you all would have a different feeling. And the SU sideline would be telling Zaire to "keep his head up" and "we got you" just like the CMU sideline did.
Not excusing it at all. And yes it was not legal. But it is football and to say stuff like "parents should press charges" is WAY overboard. It's football and it's a tough sport that's why we all like it.You really are crazy.
That was not a just a hard hit. It was illegal and it isn't even close to being legal. He had to know that when he was doing it.
He put Dungey out of the game and could have ended his career.
To excuse that behavior is nuts.

They ejected Mitch Stanitzek for his own safety! He would have been chopped blocked for sure!!! I'm so pissed off right now! That shot was beyond cheap. It was criminal. The kid should be banned a few games from NCAA play. That type of hit is just NOT excusable at this level.
It looks like a pretty severe neck injury. If he is able to play next week I would be amazed.
Dungey needs to be held out next week against LSU...with a bye week coming up we need to look at the big picture
you know zero about medicine with that statement. That was the equivalent of a high speed MVA with that impact as was falling forward with a hit and was jacked backward into severe hyperextenstion. If it was that severe of a neck injury, he'd been put on a board. Worst case scenario is still concussion in my mind.
Here's my thing: if it IS a concussion, it came at the best possible time. We almost certainly aren't going to beat LSU next week with or without Dungey, and then we have a bye week following the LSU game. So basically, we have two weeks for him to recover.
this picture is huge. Hugely good if it was taken post game. His affect (no look of dealing with an early post traumatic headache) looks good, very good which is huge with this injury.

He'll be getting a full neurologic workup this week including MRI's and MRA's (mri of the arteries). Theres reported cases of artery damage and stroke from simple hair washing at salons so with that level of impact once he's cleared on the field for acute fracture/dislocations and allowed to walk off he's now entering the next phase of diagnostic work.
Once they see the replay you're probably gonna see him with a collar on until he's cleared of the potentially more severe post injury sequela, things like slow bleeds and other God forbid things. The concussive effect is only one of the things you worry about with that type and severity of trauma, he's going to be sore as heck in in his neck a day or two at the very least. Then being a dr. type who teaches neuroscience we error on the side of hypercautiousness where we worry about other neurologic disturbances as mild as post concussive headaches or as severe as visual field disturbances. I'm going to keep him in my prayers for all to go well and complete recovery from hopefully just a mild whiplash and mild concussion and nothing worse. That's best case scenario. Cross our fingers.
