Agree. If a guy just turns out not to be good enough to contribute at this level, that happens and I can live with it. But it's frustrating when injuries keep a kid from ever getting a chance, so hopefully this is the year for him.

This is a great example of a story line I get interested in going into the season and this is exactly the kind of player you read about coming out of nowhere early in a season making some noise. A healthy Hendrix playing to even 50%of his early hype will be a great addition. He is not a small target either. If he shows with the two big guys we grabbed this past cycle (Alfred and Williams), we will finally have some nice size across our wr ranks.

Hoping for the best

Amazing he’s healthy. I’ve been pumped about this dude since he signed. Him and Jawhar on the field at once. Oh man
I think Jordan will have over 1,000 yards from scrimmage this season between rushing and receiving.

Last year he had just under 200, when we didn't even know what we're doing with him. This season, with a full slate of games to incorporate into the game plan... he's going to be big.

On that note, I do think the rb depth chart is in the right order. Adams is clear cut 1, and Howard is clear cut 2. Jordan will play plenty though.

Looks like Jordan could be returning kicks as well.

Actually, if you add return yardage he had over 200 all purpose yards in the Louisville game alone.

I know. And it was exciting. But my blind hatred of special teams biases me against including it.

Plus, I feel like it's relatively easy to pile up special teams yarfage. Scrimmage yarfs separate the men from the boys.

You hate special teams? I love them... when we're really good at them. Kirby DarDar against Florida in '91, Qadry Ismail against FSU in '91, Marvin Harrison returning punts in '95, Kevin Johnson against Wisconsin in '97, Spotwood with 4 punt return TDs in '97, David Tyree's punt blocks...

Oh yeah, when great things happen, sure.

I just despise punters, punting, most decisions to kick field goals, and feel that returning yardage is a goofy stat.

Remember when Max Suter was like the all-time NCAA single season kickoff return yard guy, because we couldn't stop anybody and he got to return a billion kickoffs?

Yeah.

Yikes.

Yeah...usually if you lead the league in kick return yards, that isn't a good thing for your team.

Yup.

Punt return yardage could be meaningful. That indicates that your defense shut down the drive.

In an ideal game you're only returning one kickoff - either at the start of the game or halftime. That's it.

Looking down the line...Good chance he would be likely candidate for 6th year medical waiver at this point. If he does then he still has 4 years eligibility. Hope he is good enough to go to NFL "early" though.

Best punt return man to ever wear Orange. Tommy Myers

Let's not forget Bris Estime against the Gophers.

I never pay attention to total yardage. Return average is what I care about. Touchdowns are great too, but less meaningful.
