Effect of new facilities and renovations

That quote is from the twitter account@CuseNationFOX
Well it's definitely a jump up from what I imagine the JUCO facilities to be.

Take it with a grain of salt, came from a JUCO that has no offers currently. We brought him in for an official but he still hasn't been offered.

Trying to get any enthusiasm from this fan base is like squeezing water out of a rock even with a winning season...unreal...
I'm not hating on the facilities at all. But they are not "ridiculous" to the point where people "haven't seen anything like it". Especially when you consider the Dome's locker room.

I understand that but instead of people saying that's good or that's cool it goes right to he's a JUCO with no offers. My thinking is I don't care who he is the facilities made an impression and I'm glad it did.

I guess. But it's like going from an aluminum shack in the ghetto of Brazil to an apartment in the ghetto of Harlem. Everything's going to be amazing by comparison. I didn't hear any of the other JUCOs that visited this weekend talk about it, because they had visited other big name schools. I think it will be good for us in the long run but this kid's quote doesn't mean very much to me.

But what's encouraging is that this kid's [whoever it was] perspective wasn't about where we've come from--it was his assessment of what he saw now.

Syracuse is still very, very far behind the bigger schools in facilities; however, there is an internal commitment to the program to improve them... and they are headed in the right direction already.

You missed my point. I'm saying his JUCO had garbage facilities so ours would have been amazing to him last year too. He had no other visits so he has no standard to gauge it.

I think this is big for the program but we need a indoor practice field near Manley to be taken seriously compared to other schools.

It beats some of the negative comments coming from our facilities a couple seasons ago. If the recruits like what they see and feel more at home its a huge plus for us. I can't imagine what old and dirty does for a kid's psyche. I know whayt it would do for me and my impression of a location where I was considering spending a great deal of time in.

I suspect that before he went JUCO he visited some four year schools

He probably has not played in a vacuum.

People say for years that we need to upgrade facilities and we do, and it makes a great impact on a recruit. And as soon as word gets out that the upgrades are having a positive impact, regardless of who the recruit(s) is/are, we still bitch.

Our facilities still need some work, but good lord, Syracuse fans can find the negative in anything.

Syracuse has made some fantastic progress in the last few years. Manley is pretty nice. Sure it is only 80 yards or so but it does have a hard top and it has the feel of a nice practice facility. The dome looks really good with the ribbon board and new screens and the locker/meeting rooms are solid. The weight room has always been solid. Are we where we need to be no. Are we close Yes.

not bitching at all. the facilities are on par with what others have, it's about time. but there are still major things that need to be done and our facilities will not be the easy sell that it is for other programs. If we get an indoor facility and fix up the dome lockerrooms we'll be looking better.

I'm just not thrilled because a random JUCO recruit that hasn't seen a BCS facility anymore said ours were mindblowing.

I thought McNabb updated the locker rooms a few years ago in the dome?

But here is the thing: he is the only one who has been quoted. Doesn't mean other recruits aren't seeing and thinking the same things.
