Elijah Robinson to Texas A&M

I’m not sure if he was the lead recruiter for these guys, but based on offers alone this is the highest rated Dline haul in Syracuse history. Haskell, Wilson, Rodgers and Houston all had great offer sheets.
I didn't know, that's why I asked. Hopefully the next DC can put these guys to work.

100% the classes have been really good but the majority are solid 3 star prospects that all need to be developed. We aren’t nor will we ever be an SEC type spot.
The equalizer is getting enough higher end talent at the skill positions, especially QB. Line development comes down to coaching and development pretty much everywhere because so many line players are a crap shoot.

I’m not sure Elijah would make a good HC. He doesn’t seem outgoing and vocal enough given what you need. If he wants to run his own program one day he may need to go down a level. But it’s unlikely he gets that chance unless he proves himself as a coordinator first. Fran was an unusual path.
Oh so he may have to go to Rutgers to start off with.

Sucks lot lose ERob, great dude. It's a soft landing spot for him to rebuild his image. I hope he has great success in his career and we can look back and thank him for helping to build the foundation of something great.

It’s the old wanting our cake and eating it too. We were all happy when he got demoted but wish he would stay. Well, when you have as good a recruiting reputation as he does, some SEC or Big 10 school is going to offer him phat cash. He was demoted, guys with options like he has won’t stick around after being demoted, unless they don’t want to move their family or something along those lines

Great post. He is SUCH a good person. I wish him nothing but the best. Fran and E will be better for this as they will always be brothers for life.

He’s a great guy, it just didn’t work here and he was being paid DC money as a DL coach and we couldn’t afford that. It’s the right move for all involved and I’m sure he’ll be a successful DL coach / recruiter in the SEC again. He can recruit Texas for LSU which I’m sure Kiffin was excited about.

No need to kick the guy while he’s down.

Like needless to say, glad he’s landing on his feet. No hate.

seriously let’s not re-write immediate history here. As soon as the demotion happened (for having an absolute terrible defense for two years) this was inevitable. Today cuse significantly upgraded.

Weird seeing the clamoring to keep him. Could have gone to the ACC championship & maybe the playoff last year if we had a better DC.
Yup. If we had Tony White or Kehres instead of Robinson. Pretttyyy good chance we are in the playoffs. We beat Stanford. Beat BC. Pitt game is a wash. The ONE bad game McCord had. So we are legitimately probably 11-1 and in the ACC championship. Win that and we are in the playoffs. Like that’s not even that hard to think of. That would have been a realllll possibility with even an average DC. We had the talent on defense that year to be a reallllly good defense and it was wasted. We were lucky we probably had one of the best offense Cuse has ever had

I hate to say it, but

And I’m sure Fran Brown decision to go another direction at DC also had to do with this as well. While many were appreciative of all the accomplishments that season and fun moments especially for a first time head coach. There is a reason Fran has been publicly honest that he was disappointed that we didn’t accomplish more.

Our offense was that elite last season by the end of November that not only would we have been in the playoff, I think we could’ve made a serious run in it. I watched Notre Dame and Penn State live. Very good defenses, but neither had the playmaker at QB that we had with McCord.

Thanks Coach Robinson for everything you did for the Cuse. Good luck at LSU...as long as your interests don't interfer with SU's.
As far as I know he hasn’t accepted or even been offered a position at LSU. Will it probably been it’s not a slam dunk
