Erv on crutches..

@matt_schneidman: Injury report not out yet, but sophomore hybrid Erv Philips is on crutches, seeming to favor his left foot.

But I saw him with an ice pack on his knee coming out for the 2nd half? Did he get injured during practice this week?

These kids have access to round the clock PT. He'll be ready to play.

Phillips will not make or break us in the next 2 weeks. surprised how much he played after getting hurt but he seemed to run well even while limping around.

If he ends up out of the line up, next man up!

Seemed to suffer the injury on the TD reception, and it wasn't clear to me exactly where the injury happened. He was limping as he left the end zone to return to the sideline. I'm just glad Fredericks wasn't injured on his first carry which went for 31 yards. He was slow to get up after landing on the ball, but it turned out to be nothing.

Erv right now is the team's most dynamic playmaker followed closely by Bris. Strickland's time to shine if Erv is out.

The silver lining, if Erv winds up missing the game, is that I think Strickland is athletic enough and talented enough to make a lot of the same sorts of plays that Erv would. Obviously he's missing the game experience but he's a dynamic athlete. There's a bit of a drop off, but it's not a precipitous.

Yeah, if Erv is out it's definitely a loss.

The bright side is that Lewis, Strickland, Hill, perhaps even Womack can step in and make some plays as well. Strickland and Hill have the speed, and the coaches clearly want to get Womack the ball. Don't forget that Ish, Estime, Avant and the other wide outs are healthy. The O-line is healthy. Lester's system is in place. Yes, the freshman QB has a lot on his plate. However, this is a better situation than last season because last year the young QBs were under much more pressing circumstances with so many other injuries. Dungey seems to process everything well, and he's an athlete. Go Cuse!!

I know Hill is a little dude, but he is elusive, definitely get him involved again this week. that spin move he made against URI was awesome.
