rebounding can be found at the 4:20 mark near the end of the first half. MU put up a three pointer and JS bodied 435 pound Gardner all the way from the circle in front of the basket right out of bounds without fouling him (i.e. just using his lower body). And he pulled in the rebound.

That is great evidence of his improved technique as well as rebounding desire. Great to see if you have the DVR. Put it on slow motion and you'll really appreciate his effort.

I saw that play! If you go back and look at all of our long runs vs NCST, Bucknell, etc. he is always on the floor! He is going to be a monster next year!

Would love to see him bring that to the offensive end some now. I imagine he gets alittle higher then CJ and KJO in the paint. His putbacks dunks are more electric.

If JS could become consistent, I dont think anyone would question us at #1. He can come into the game and produce goose eggs across the board and then he can come in the next game and put up 15 points 4-5 boards and a couple steals (maybe even a block or 2). He is just way too inconsistent. If he could average 10 ppg (which he should since his strength is as a shooter then these close games wouldnt be as close.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that if he has his shot a certain game, he's awfully defensively and on the boards. But if his shot his off, he becomes CJ Fair with a bigger vertical as far as rebounds, put-backs, and being in the right place at the right time.

Yeah that sounds pretty accurate. I'd love to see him become more consistent this year because as someone said we would become totally unstoppable. Right now we are mostly unstoppable lol

Agree Cusefan.

all three of his rebounds were strong, man-sized rebounds. He has been improving on the defensive glass all year and now leads the team in defensive rebounding percentage. As long as JB is using him mostly as a pick and pop guy, he won't be a strong offensive rebounder because he is always come in from the perimeter. I think he would be better in a more versatile role - he should be taking more deuces (his 15 to 17 foot jumpers are things of beauty and his 2 pt. FG percentage is insane) and I think he would be awesome if JB ran a high post offense through him half a dozen times per game.

I agree Moqui. Love his sweet 15 footers. Would like to see more of them which would give him a better chance for offensive rebounds. Then again, when he is hitting threes he is a one man game breaker. Maybe as you say he can mix it up a bit more. It seems like he is actually.

James is 20 of 49 from 3, 41%, very respectable. What's odd is that when he misses, it's usually way off.
Usually a dead-eye shooter either makes or almost makes (and may end up at 41%). James either seems to either make or miss by a mile.

Thats true Osulfam, I've noticed that too... I think it must have something to do with being relaxed and in flow. It seems like when he is more open and in flow, his shot is pure. When he is guarded more closely, he may get a little tight. Definitely something he needs to work on and he is getting better by going to his mid-range game when he is off from
deep. And he is doing a better job of rebounding for sure.
