In the short time on the court. Looked MUCH more active and comfortable out there. Had a few nice blocks, looked like he was skying for the rebounds. Looked a lot more athletic and in shape. Excited for him this season. Anyone else feel the same?

U think so? I though he lost a TON of weight...which is good. But he still looked clumsy and uncoordinated. I have a nagging feeling this kid will never pan out.

I look at the picture below (from today's media day) and Melo's "slump" is already in mid-season form as he gets a lesson from Bernie.

That picture is misleading. He probably just had to pose for 20 minutes and is annoyed. If you saw him on the court tonight he looked like a different person - confident, active, excited. He was having fun out there and playing well

Yes. Cooney hit at least two that I know of.

Cooney looked awesome also. Although he won't get significant PT until maybe 2013-2014. He will be a monster by then. Easy to see why Nova MD and ND wanted him bad. Excited about this frosh class.
