FBI Hoops Trial starting

Apparently Miller paid 10k a month to Ayton and paid to have recruits families etc moved to Tucson. This is rediculous.

Truly, one of the biggest cheaters out there. Miller needs to perish in flames professionally over this. And if he doesn't, then it further exposes what a joke the NCAA is.

That's about 3.5 times what most G-League players make...excluding 2-way contracts and bonuses.

It may be a rough approximation of what the best incoming players could expect to make if college openly embraces its ever-expanding role as a minor league for the NBA.

Pretty bad but he hasn't given a kids mom two cars yet like K did for Duhon

If this isn’t the death penalty, what is?
I would say an entire institution fabricating curriculum in order to keep athletes eligible for decades, but we know that isn't the case. Or buying underage recruits prostitutes in attempt to lure them to a school. Not so much.

Firing Book bought them time. Firing Miller will please the NCAA enough that they'll likely be served light penalties and probation.

On the other hand, if JB were to fart on an elevator shared with an NCAA intern, we're toast.

And paid Alkins and Trier. It made no sense that all these east coast kids we’re going way out to Arizona for school. Dude is an insane cheater. He and Wade need to be banned from the sport. Way worse than what Pitino and even Pearl got dinged for, though i imagine they both paid players at some point in their careers.

The level of cheating is jaw dropping. Though I suspect Miller and Wade aren’t the only ones doing this, just the ones who were caught.

There were rumors that Walter Berry got $100k. How much is that today?

Not just the coaches, the programs should get the death penalty as well. They knew exactly what was going on, especially since they have kept their coaches through this controversy.

How much of the NCAA penalties against us do you think were more severe because Oliver Luck had a personal dislike of Syracuse/Boeheim and tried to maximize damage to Syracuse?

Its a disgrace the sanctions put on the program...if he doesnt get his wins back after this whole saga I give up...and yea Oliver is a real smuck

They really have no choice except to keep them until everything is finalized in order to have an airtight case for firing them for cause, thereby avoiding having to pay a buyout or a potential lawsuit. The academics at these schools are just as, if not more, embarrassed about all this than anyone else is. The bulk of these coaches are going to be hit with Show Cause orders, a perfect out for the schools. Everyone likes to talk about how much money is involved in college sports. Being able to fire these coaches at no cost is another aspect of the money.

But who's going to fire the administrators and University presidents that have fostered an environment where this type of cheating has run rampant?

Problem is, where do you start/stop? You've got a board of trustees that hired these folks too. If you could ever prove they knew what was going on, the worth of a diploma would drop like a stone.

Depends on the school. The Governor of Kentucky fired everyone at Louisville over its scandal because it's a public school. He could do that, a. because he's the governor, and (more importantly) b, because they violated the probation they were all operating under because of the first set of scandals that cost them their championship. I.e. they were fired for cause and and at no money cost. At some point the Trustees of any school have to decide which is more important the reputation of their school or the retention of the administration. There are fiduciary duties involved here. Not upholding them could lead to serious legal repercussions.

Everyone wants all these people fired yesterday. That. Just. Ain't. Happenin'. Nothing is going to happen until there is a final decision on things from the NCAA so that those making the decision and the schools can't be successfully sued. The NCAA has just started the process. How about giving them more than a week to accomplish what needs to be done?

BOT or State Legislature

The losing to Hopkins thing is crazy though. I mean Hop had a team coming off 9-22 and is trying to convince kids to stick it out and beats him while Miller is paying 3 kids. You can't make this stuff up.

We get your a fan. Give it a rest dude. Upsets happen in college ball.
