The greater truth is that Duke and KY would care if their fan base is upset - SU does not care about the fans.I understand that, but the entire picture including the JB slide was made possible by enabling fans. Duke, Kentucky, etc would never permit the last decade to happen.
Yes the genius sport parent - knows more than Dr. Naismith, Coach K and Phil Jackson combined.A parent mad at a coach, wow first time I have ever heard of such a thing.
Paulie doesn’t run the socials, Tim Leonard does (and I don’t believe Tim was at the game). Brent axe said it was directed at the media table. Brent said “I really enjoy talking to this gentleman, and he’s a class act. His frustration spilled over”.Since the tweet came from Cuse Sports Talk, I’ll venture a guess that it was Paulie S who posted it, as he sits at the scorer’s table.
That to me is the problem - nobody should be guaranteed anything - Buddy or Jimmy or Kiyan, ...anyone.It’s a complete mess and there’s no easy answers. Firing Red now could potentially do more harm than good. A mid-season firing will result in one of the assistant coaches taking over. I don’t believe that any of the bench coaches can do better, and I think that it will negatively affect the young players on the team.
The most important thing is for the powers that be to look ahead and figure out how to keep the core players for next year. Melo should be assured that Kiyan will be starting next year, and Melo should be involved with deciding who the next coach should be. White should receive a huge NIL and like Kiyan, be guaranteed a starting spot. If Freeman doesn’t take his chances and go pro, it will be hard to convince him to come back. He will get offers from some of the top programs in the country. Betsy should also be targeted as a player we want to return.
From there, it’s up to a new outside head coach to be able to assess other players on our roster that he’d like to keep (Fennell, Womack?) and to pull top players from the portal to round out the team. As some have mentioned, there are examples of other teams that were as lowly as we are now and made a complete turnaround in one year.
The right coach after this season is the biggest factor as to whether we make a change in the right direction or continue to flounder.
That part of the plan stood out to me. Not sure what Kiyan and Sadiq have consistently shown to be guaranteed starting spots. That to me is the problem - nobody should be guaranteed anything - Buddy or Jimmy or Kiyan, ...anyone.
The lack of hustle and execution is a direct reflection of the attitude of your coach. When it comes to talent you’re virtually the only person that has that opinion. There’s no respect from him whatsoever and can be seen in both the BC and VT games down the stretch. This is bordering on a Kenny Payne level of performance. Everyone said that team had no talent and then once he was fired from his 8 win team the kids ended up at Kansas, UCLA and Vanderbilt.Yes the genius sport parent - knows more than Dr. Naismith, Coach K and Phil Jackson combined.
Red stinks but I continue to say our talent is vastly overrated and doesn't want to work/try hard enough to make winning plays.
The inbounds pass last night where their guy is diving on the floor (and they were in the lead) while our two leaders loaf around.
Remove last names and orange bias - this team is not that talented at the game of basketball.
Using Autry dip word. I don’t think people see that a dip in the game is inevitable, but Red timing of timeouts and substitution strategy is actively making those dips worse and losing Syracuse games. The lack of hustle and execution is a direct reflection of the attitude of your coach. Why you only hustle and play hard if you like your coach? I don't understand that. The lack of hustle and execution is a direct reflection of the attitude of your coach. They improved when Pat Kelsey entered the programWhy you only hustle and play hard if you like your coach? I don't understand that.
We don't have a reliable shooter (Betsey maybe), we don't have a player with exceptional ball handling, we don't have anyone who is strong with or without the ball, we don't have anyone with elite quickness. We don't have one player with an elite skillset on the team other than Kyle with jumping.
Don't care what Louisville did but it seems to me they improved a ton once all those talented players you mentioned left the program.
It’s not like Red sits anyone for lack of hustle. There’s no ramifications for it.Why you only hustle and play hard if you like your coach? I don't understand that.

JJ ain't the problem. It’s not like Red sits anyone for lack of hustle. There’s no ramifications for it.
Kingz is a good shooter. He’s been worse here most of the season, but now up 35%. George has turned it over
more than GT. I think their struggles are from the lack of offense.
We should have moved on from JJ. Red is blinded by him.
Basketball is more to do with coaching than football. Just because you have 5 stars doesn’t automatically mean you win.
He's a HUGE problem. The biggest problem in our starting lineup. He's a shooting guard shooting 50% from the foul line and has completely abandoned shooting jumpers because he's 32% from 3. Shooting guards need to shoot. He also has regressed back to his usual turnstile ways on defense.JJ ain't the problem.
Red is the issue man. No need to single out JJ. Every guard on this team besides Kingz is nowhere near good enough. He played 23 mins last night. I guarantee the result is not different with him playing 0 mins. Focus on Red.He's a HUGE problem. The biggest problem in our starting lineup. I never want to see another shooting guard again who does not make at least 35% of his 3's and 75% of his free throws.

I tend to respectfully disagree with the statement that our players aren’t as talented as we believe. We have one of the most Atheltic centers in the country, one of the best PFs in the country, transfers who proved to be commodities at their former stops but have worse output here somehow.Yes the genius sport parent - knows more than Dr. Naismith, Coach K and Phil Jackson combined.

I would add to that the worst staff as well.It seems almost inexplicable that we have the worst coach in CBB.

Good post.So Autry is 1-5ish now in games decided by 3 points? Just goes to show what the margins are between irrelevant and being ranked in college hoops.
He's not cut out for the chair but it's not exactly like the program is dead. Maybe dead compared to the great years but you can see we had the talent this year.
We basically need a coach that can get us a 2 baskets a game and not shoot himself in the foot with substitutions, out of timeouts, and in endgame scenarios. That would've put us at like 17-2 / 16-3 right now and even better than anyone ever imagined.
I really believe we can find a legit coach to get us a few points and put us back into relevancy quickly next year.
