Marty Byrnes was a freshman on hat team Not sure how many minutes he logged but he went on the play four seasons in the NBA and is portrayed in the Lakers movie.

I think Marty has two great distinctions in the 70's
1) I think he is the only SU play drafted in the NBA 1st round in the entires70's
2) he was the player who was front and center of perhaps Boeheims biggest rant ever when Magic Johnson won the MVP of the carrier classic over Marty.

He was a beast in his time another great player

Actually not true. Dion Waiters was on the roster of the LA Lakers when they won the championship during the pandemic. I dont think he played any games in the later rounds of the playoffs though due to injury.

A heady player, he eventually became a student coach under JB.

Whatever happened to him?
