To think that the NCAA selection committee would use some consistent criteria for tournament inclusion from year to year flies in the face of reality.

Who knows what "theme" they will stress this year as inclusion criteria. The goalposts move far too much for us to even begin to predict our chances with any degree of accuracy.

I can just see the chair saying one of the following phrases if asked why, if excluded, we didn't make it.

"They just didn't do enough against the top half of their conference"

"They simply had a couple bad losses that really stood out" (while other years they would stress good wins vs bad losses)

"We looked at that Pitt / SU game as a play in game" (even though at other times they say this never happens)

basically, this is a fun endeavor trying to determine if we are in or out, just don't fool yourself into thinking its anything other than a complete guessing game.

How is that fair? No consistency at all
How would it be fair to have the same guys from the same schools and conferences stay on the committee forever?

The committee shouldn't be conference affiliated at all. Let Obama do it.

This is why I am not spending much time to argue this bubble at all (team vs team). It's hard to separate and it's really hard to determine what the committee will do.

Ihis year I tracked whether teams could get in the range, or off the range of the bubble line. Spent alot of time doing that. I just don't have interest in trying to separate them.

It's ridiculous to be finding fault with the "committee". The only place to lay any blame is on our team itself. They just didn't get it done.

Realistically, if we were to get in, what good does that really do? Does anyone really think we have any chance whatsoever of advancing in the tournament? We couldn't even eke out a win against Fla. St. or Pitt which would have sealed the deal.

What more sense of urgency would this team have needed than that? They played hard (for the most part) but they weren't good enough this year. Close... but not enough.

i disagree with that. Teams come out of no where all the time. Plus, I would rather lose in a play in game than win the NIT.
