For all you guys who were gonna call in - JBs weekly show is now live

I like Matt as the bball radio guy, think he does a fairly good job. For football he's death, I defy you to listen to him and the other dude and have any semblance of what is happening, it's unlistenable. I haven't listened to the coaches show in decades but he's not the guy to play off of JB. He kept veering off into weird areas and bringing up stuff unrelated to the topic at hand. Brutal.
He is a consistent mouthpiece for the University. He's a company guy, and they know what they are getting.

A lot of other Newhouse people are looking for bigger and brighter things. I get the fact they wanted someone who would be here for awhile, but the quality suffers greatly.

Agree about football - you don't know the down or distance and it's incoherent blabbering half the time.

Someone asked about sitting Joe and Buddy when their shots aren't falling and going with Kadary and Griff at the guards.
"Allen is not a guard, he's having trouble playing the forward spot" Says its not realistic. "How do you know there not gonna make shots"
After last game, I'm not sure what Buddy can do at Guard that Allan can't.

It's possible he meant for the center position but yes he absolutely said that. It was toward the beginning of the show and I was trying to do a few things at once so I missed who he was talking about before Marek (he was defending other players playing a lot) but he absolutely said that about Marek.

Thanks! Even if he was referring to the center position, it still makes no sense.
Who cares which center handles the ball the best? If that is the case, we should remove Buddy from the lineup since he's not our best rebounding guard. I'm just flabbergasted at this point.

There's no game this Sat so I am thinking a debate between you and Cuse Runner, we will pick 5 subjects and winner gets the Pfizer vaccine. Can't wait to get your take on the yankees payroll, lock down curfews, COVID in teens and young adults and Craft beer vs the blue collar beer, CR will be fired up to defend his Coors lights and White Claws.
YOU'RE ON!

Actually, it's probably a waste of time.

Just take anything he says, and put me down for the opposite.

How tall is Allan? He looks like a prototypical SG and no bigger than Tyus to me so I'm a bit puzzled by JB's comment.

He does look like the prototypical SG. Weird.

Paul Harris looked like a prototypical SG too. Except he couldn't shoot and he couldn't dribble.

Silent G could do both. But he didn't look like a guard.

Did he though? :)

But even Harris shot 32% from three one year - that's like 74% if you add in one make each game and adjust it for two point percentage.

Buddy only at 27%*

* not including adjustments for misses that count as assists, one additional credited make each game, and the two point percentage bounce

But you have to subtract half a percentage point for every dunk Harris missed. ;)

:) He did miss a lot of bunnies - and dunks

We used to have some players that were extraordinarily good at missing dunks

G was my favorite - every once in awhile he would just decide to tomahawk it from just inside the free throw line. Never worked out, but I always respected the effort!

G was ridiculous with it, as was Flynn. We all remember the dunk on Rosario at Rutgers, but I think he missed every other dunk in his career where he tried to dunk on somebody, lol.

"Our defensive rebounding isn't good enough"
"our defense is statistically better then it was last year"
I think he is delusional or in denial on everything. So what if our defense is statistically better than last year, we were an 18-14 team headed to the NIT, big whup-ti-do

That'd be a funny board poll. It's prolly been done. Best missed dunker in Cuse history. Recency bias but it's between MCW and Gbinije for me.

Edit: Grant!

Poor ball handler and passer from what I’ve seen.

Though we could play him there alongside Kadary, and just use Kadary as a real PG who runs the show, like we used to with Ennis, Flynn, Z, Autry, Sherm, etc.

He also has mental lapses so the more I think about it, JB's right.

The frustrating thing is this team appears to have a lot of interchangeable parts, but there's little attempt to interchange.
