A lot of other Newhouse people are looking for bigger and brighter things. I get the fact they wanted someone who would be here for awhile, but the quality suffers greatly.

This isn't about a single season where we're down and another team is up. This is about the trend of the program. A decade ago we would have never thought that we couldn't compete with another team. Even in down years we had a chance to beat top ten teams. I believe there was a year we were unranked and we beat UConn when they were ranked #1. JB may not like that the fans have expectations, but he established the standard. We have, through most of his tenure, been a top 25 team that has slipped below that and does not show signs of returning.

One thing that is interesting is that there have been times that JB has been critical of the fans. Should he get to have expectations for the fans but be surprised when fans have expectations for him and the team?

Optics matter. I have no issue with being straight up about it and admitting the opponent is a good team. But you've got to at least make an attempt to say we expect to win every game we play, we prepare to win every game, etc.

Basketball too! When he calls it on radio I think he literally thinks the people listening can see what is happening somehow. I had to listen to part of the Miami game on the radio and Edwards took two free throws and he just talked about his development and whatnot and NEVER mentioned if the foul shots actually went in! It’s stuff like that for the whole game.
