Weve competed in just about every game. Kind of interesting if you think about it.
Really... that seemed like the only game we competed in

we 125th in yards per play on offense. it's a repeat of gerg where your offense is so bad that your defense ends up looking ok because teams get a lead and just wait for the game to end knowing you can't score
Lot to look forward to on defense but the third and long struggles (don’t have the numbers this year but yesterday was brutal) kill us. We bail ourselves out with takeaways which are huge plays but historically it’s tough to rely on those as they can be fluky. I mean the guy fumbled out of the end zone yesterday.offense has been terrible, no arguing it, but we were up in the third quarter in this one. Our defense is better than just looking ok. Theres deficiencies there but a lot of talent and its young.

I get what you’re saying but that’s not what happened yesterday. The game was in doubt for 60 minutes and I saw a defense that made a lot of plays against a team in the top half of the ACC.we 125th in yards per play on offense. it's a repeat of gerg where your offense is so bad that your defense ends up looking ok because teams get a lead and just wait for the game to end knowing you can't score
The entire dline graduates and may not be coming back. We could be in trouble.I get what you’re saying but that’s not what happened yesterday. The game was in doubt for 60 minutes and I saw a defense that made a lot of plays against a team in the top half of the ACC.
We started, what, 6 freshman on defense? And even so, they got pressure on Hockman and stopped the run reasonably well. The difference in the game was NC State’s big, physical receivers making plays, but even on a lot of those plays the coverage was still good. There were very few busts in the secondary.
Excited to see what these guys can do next year. We could have one of the better defensive units in the ACC
This team played hard all year for Dino.
There's good young talent on this team on both sides.
Hopefully they can bring in some immediate help on Offense and on the DL.
If they do that, they will easily make a bowl next year
I dont know how anyone can look at what has happened to this program recently and say that making a bowl next year should be easy. I am far from doom and gloom and dont think Dino need to be let go at this point. I even think we can and should make a bowl next year. But to say EASILY...thats when I have to pump some brakes.
The next excuse is surely going to be how COVID killed us in recruiting this year (even though other schools are fine), so we have to give the coaches a pass on this class and wait to see what we bring in next year.Until it doesn't
Then we will blame
Location
Training Facilities
Conference
Pandemic
Locker rooms
Dining hall food
Not enough practices
Too many practices
Marrone
Gross
The negative fans who complain on message boards
The fans who rake
The band
The media
...but still not the coaching, recruiting, play calling, or game preparation
I see them beating Ohio, Albany, and one of Liberty/Rutgers in OOC next year, hopefully all four of them. Then it's two or three conference wins. It's not a high bar to clear and should be the standard. If they get transfer help at OL, DL, and QB, the roster outlook looks a lot better.
We will have a very tough time beating Liberty and Rutgers. We will have no dline, probably an online not much better than this year and an unproven OC.I see them beating Ohio, Albany, and one of Liberty/Rutgers in OOC next year, hopefully all four of them. It could be the water.Nah its the food
I love the optimism. We haven't been competitive in every game but we've been competitive in a solid amount of games especially against peer schools that makes me think we can flip a few of those losses to wins next year.
Watch out Ohio will give us fits too. I see the whole Syracuse cheerleading squad has posted in this thread. Bowl game, Ill be first in line for that road trip. I think everyone has forgotten how bad we are because this year doesnt matter.I'm so afraid our only wins next year are Albany and Ohio. Liberty and Rutgers are looking like losses and we could go winless in the ACC. I yearn to be just mediocre, it hurts to be a fan right now.
We’re 1-9, and have eyes to watch the QB position.Competed again, the babers haters are idiots
We’re 1-9, and have eyes to watch the QB position.
After next year, Tommy will be gone and we can do this no-QB situation all over again. I’m not seeing much to be enthusiastic about.
We have 1/3 our team out, no doubt need a qb though whether its tommy or someone else, cant win without a qb
And if you take away the 1-10 season his record would be 23-26. New Flash: no other team in the COUNTRY went into the final game of the season missing 27 scholarship players. Team played hard all year and improved significantly in the last month. Give them a full off-season of s&c and sufficient time for the new coordinators to install their schemes and it’s not a stretch to expect a substantial record improvement. And give some of the first year coaches with strong recruiting resumes the opportunity to actually meet prospective Orange recruits face to face and that 10 win season won’t look like such an anomaly.Babers record at SU: 24-36. If you take out the 10-3 record that had Dungey, Strickland, Cordy, Pierce, Custis, Conway, Slayton, Roberts (all Scott Shafer recruits) his record would be 14-33. 4 out of 5 losing seasons. Is next year the turn around ? We hear that every year. News flash: other teams in the ACC and else where had to deal with similar issues and they will get better. Yup, the players played hard, got beaten by better talent and not to forget Greg Robinson's team beat Notre Dame...and we know how that worked out.
