I’m asking because I don’t know … how well did he recruit at temple and Rutgers? Compared to Syracuse, yes it’s incredibly easy to recruit at Georgia.

Holy Cross was perennially bad, so Chesney would clearly be more qualified. Jason Candle will probably win the MAC championship. This guy isn't even a coordinator . . . in fact, he's never been a coordinator. Now he's going to be the head coach? We can file that under very risky.

I'm going to give him a chance, but this I think it's fair to be a bit skeptical.

As an aside, I was the leading scorer on a flag football team in college, and I played touch football in law school. Maybe I should have applied? You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, I guess.

Dini won the MAC...and look where that got him. Winning in lower levels doesn't guarantee that you're a good coach

Yep I don’t say this in any patronizing way, with a lot of recruits being African American kids from a tough background, you can’t fake authenticity when it comes to living that and relating to that. Brown will be able to go into these kids homes and the kid, his parents, grandparents will all connect with him in a way that a lot of coaches can’t.

When the Steelers hired Mike Tomlin to be HC, he had been an assistant coach for fewer seasons than Fran has been an assistant coach. Tomlin was mainly a WR or DB coach and had 1 year of experience as a DC. Went on to win a Super Bowl. Not bad.

His best work so far was completed this week when five of the top six prospects to sign in the 2022 recruiting class were recruits he was directly responsible for. 247 Sports ranks Brown 32nd nationally and 8th in the Big Ten for his results in the 2022 recruiting cycle. The last time 247 Sports ranked a Rutgers recruiting assistant in the top 50 was Jeff Hafley at No. 28 in 2011.

Yeah, top 25 seems overly optimistic, if not borderline delusional. Had the program come close in twenty years, I could be convinced. Are there examples of programs who consistently live outside of the top 50 suddenly pulling in Top 25 classes? If so, then maybe I'm too pessimistic.

top 40 would be more than sufficient to be successful in the ACC. All but maybe 4 ACC teams live between 30-50.

Babers current class is #49 its the highest I can ever remember him being.

not patronizing at all. if the majority of high school football players were indian i'd want to hire someone from India to be the head coach. The essence of life is in relationships and it totally makes sense. You need to make connections with coaches, recruits, staff, community and fans to make this work.

I hope Wildhack considered how he interacts with everyone holistically and thought about it. Knowing JW he 100% did.

I'm guessing the 3-9 Giants aren't too worried about the rest of this season.
