I strongly disagree. I'm tired of hearing about depth issues.

Part of the depth issues exist because we burn redshirts on guys that don't contribute beyond special teams for a year.

I think depth issues occur because we don't have good roster balance moreso caused by not recruiting positions evenly year over year rather than burning redshirts. We're getting there, but a loose example would be us bringing in 4 Defensive Ends and 4 Defensive Backs in 1 year (2019). You need to bring in a couple of kids at every position every year.

We've been hurt at LB because we had some Shafer kids transfer, plugged in 2 JUCOs (Guthrie and Williams) and then had 3 Babers recruit not pan out. Fagan, Allison, Walton. That's a lot of attrition in a short period of time.

I like that he might be more game ready to take over a starting LB spot next year. We graduate 2 seniors LBs yet again. Can't worry about 5 years down the road anymore.

I think the fact that he is playing specials means that yes he is probably a great candidate to be game ready next year I just don't think playing him 10 games on specials as opposed to 4 games on specials is going to make much of a difference this year on team results or in his personal readiness to play LB next year. But having him available for an additional season as a 5th year linebacker could be huge! Decisions like this certainly will affect the talent of our starting roster every year.

if I was them I’d play him next week. If we lose then play him no worries. If we win then let him play wake and save redshirt in bowl game. He will play in 4 of them after this year anyway

We gotta win these two but do we really need to burn a year of eligibility on a 4th string rbk who has 2 rushes today 4 vs BC and 2 vs the mighty Holy Cross Raiders. Would be a waste. This kid has all type of potential

I agree we need to redshirt kids period. I see trill and a few others, ok. Jones played well and I see the reasoning behind the Canadians but we should redshirt everyone else period. If don’t think we should waste a year on specials. Drives me nuts and then we bitch about depth.

He was garbage time today. Probably won’t have that luxury the next two weeks.
