FSU is now a must win

Actually it does matter, a one dimensional team is a dead team.

Load the box and dare their freshman QB to throw 50 times would be my strategy. Run blitz about 80% of the time and clog the holes and play man coverage jamming receivers at the line so he has to hold the ball.

Florida State is looking like our best chance for a win out of our four remaining games and we need two wins in our next three games. BC looked pretty tough tonite and though it's nice to see Pasqualoni do well, I really don't like any scenario that makes our game against BC a must win to become bowl eligible. If we want to go bowling, Florida State is huge...
I don't think you are giving SU enough credit. I think there is a real good chance that SU runs the table. I do believe that they are better then all of the remaining teams on the schedule.

Considering they beat lville on the road and destroyed uva and FSU back to back guess what, IT JUST DOSEN’T MATTER if they can throw or not
Pfft, you're so afraid of them because they play like Marrone's Jaguars.

FSU is a wounded wounded grizzly. The team needs to put them down early or they will be a problem.

If we can’t beat FSU this year we don’t deserve a bowl game. They gave up last night. It’s a front running operation. We have everything to play for. I’ll be curious what the line is for that game

Yeah, that's it. The BC game won't be decided because BC can't throw the ball.

FSU was -4 vs BC. so that makes them more like 8-10 at home right? Does what happen move the needle now and get it below like -7?

the best thing about our team is that we have gone to LSU/Miami/NC st and done gone down 14-20 and still come back so even if FSU comes out crazed and jumps us we still have a shot and know we can do it. but if we jump them its likely over, the crowd will leave and or boo.

Yeah, that's it. The BC game won't be decided because BC can't throw the ball.
Sure it will, in part. And it'll also be decided because the Dazzler will punt from our 40 and kick a field goal in the red zone on 4th and 2 or less.

I'm fully expecting some early game horse crap out of the Dazzler. Guys jumping offsides to take cheap shots on Dungey. Attempts to out "tough" us. Whatever.

I'm actually pleased BC is having a better season now. For a while it looked like they were going to be terrible. We want BC to do just well enough that it keeps the Dazzler there. Maintaining a meathead program in the NE is great for us.

FSU looked bad. Fisher had no answers. The team had no desire. I think Clemson has gotten into Fisher's head and he is being exposed for what he is, a very good coach who came up through a great system without much adversity and is now facing issues he has never seen or probably contemplated. It was easy to look great when you are winning year in and year out and have been named a Coach-in-Waiting behind a true legend. It is better to have worked up the ranks with some head coaching at lower levels and worked on great staffs. Knowing how to win and how to overcome adversity is what makes the greatest coaches so great.

Contrast Fisher's career with Dino Babers' career. Baber's has had to learn many things from many coaches and many schools. There was no easy path. Yet, Babers faced adversity (on multiple fronts!) and rises to each challenge (which is why I believe that the Orange are in the right hands!) and overcomes each obstacle without losing his composure, beating himself up, losing control, or giving up. It will be interesting to see whether Fisher can overcome the issues or if he really is weak.

As noted above, it the FSU kids that have sailed through HS and into college have never been truly tested and are now seeing the head games involved in football, especially at the pro level. No matter how great you were last year or at place X, it is about what are you doing now! The FSU Players need to forget the past, start fresh and play their hearts out with their minds in control. Just not next week, they can start in two weeks, or next spring, or some other time.

We're probably playing them at the worst possible time IMO.

They're 2-5 and were just humiliated by BC. B-freaking-C.

They're going to come out throwing haymakers. I'm confident we effectively counter.

Winning these games against Florida teams in Florida is big for recruiting. Really big.

It's not a must win. The only "must" for us is 6 & a bowl, however we get there. Tonight was really the worst case scenario for us. FSU will now have to hear what an embarrassment they are all week, ESPN will be pushing the "what's wrong with FSU?" narrative along with questions about Jimbo's future & they'll likely come out fired up at home.

This is BC's most emotional effort & electric atmosphere of the year with the Red Bandana game (such an awesome tradition, btw). FSU wasn't anywhere near ready to match that. FSU still has much more talent than us across the board & it would be a significant feat to beat them at home.

Couldnt agree more, this was FSU hitting rock bottom that i had hoped would happen in our game. Its to bad we dont get them at home, would love our chances.

FSU was ranked #2 in the country when they opened the season against #1 'Bama. I know they lost their QB for the season in that game, a crushing blow for sure, but this team wasn't ranked that high just because of their QB, but the plethora of 4* & 5* guys up and down their roster. I haven't really watched FSU since that opening game until last night's total implosion and embarrassment on national TV. It was stunning to watch, I can only imagine what their fans, boosters, etc. felt/are feeling. Did they lose other key starters to injury, etc.?

As others mentioned, they just look disinterested, the sleeping/laughing on the bench caught on TV was inexcusable and such a bad look. If I'm Jimbo, I bench or kick those guys off the team immediately to send a message. It goes without saying how you need talent to win, especially at such a high level, but also that one's mental toughness/engagement/capacity may be of even more significance.

I'm not taking anything away from BC, as they appear to be quite solid, especially with their recent margin of victories, but that team should never had been able to put such a hurt on that FSU team.

No they're not. They don't care. They're going to come out, take a dump in their pants, treat their home fans to an L, and go commit some minor crimes after the game because that's the FSU way.

FSU is going to want to destroy somebody after this... us

Wanting to destroy someone and being able to destroy someone are 2 different things.

They still have talent on D of course but that offense is dragging down the whole team.

Akers the RB looks really good. QB and OL, just not good.

FSU is not as strong as LSU and NCSU or the Canes and the Orange were one play away from winning all three of those games on the road. The coaches have 2 weeks to scheme and get the guys healthy and ready so, they need to come away with a W.

I certainly think that SU CAN run the table, but that starts with Florida State. At the beginning of the season, people were talking of needing Wake Forest and Boston College wins to become bowl eligible. With four games to go our toughest games may be BC and Louisville, making Florida State and Wake Forest our must win games and they're our next two opponents. I think that the prospect of losing one or both of our next two games will make for potential heartbreak in our last two games. We're playing well and will be competitive in our last four games but so are at least two of our opponents. We need two wins. Which games offer the best opportunity to produce the wins we need to go bowling? I like our chances a lot more if we win against FSU than if we need wins at Louisville and against BC to get there...

I think this can be a tough win for Cuse. Certainly possible but anyone thinking that Cuse can stroll in and not get States best is to quick in dismissing Jimbo, a whole ton of 4/5 star talent and some young men who just where embarrassed by BC...even if the players don't like Jimbo, their pride just took a shot...I think we see the best version of State anyone has seen this year...so the question to Cuse is which Cuse team is going to show up? Hoping its the one that showed for Clemson. Go Cuse!

Better than the FSU at 0-0 vs Alabama? Or the one that I think was 1-1 or 1-2 vs miami? Now they're 2-5 and completely mailing it in. I get it, they're the big bad wolf. But a few of their teeth are duller.

Two problems... I think FSU is a wounded tiger. They are going to come out guns blazing. Our QB is no bueno on the road. I'll put the usual "I think Dungey is as tough as nails and a great kid" disclaimer but when we go on the road he has a quarter or two where he plays like he has taken a head shot. I think UCONN last year was the one exception and in that game be was bailed out by AET going beast mode.

Ug. We’ll deserve a bowl game if we win 5 or 6 games and get an invite.

Nah, not a must win. Although I do think we should keep hammering the nail in the coffin.

BC can't throw.
I thought the freshmen qb Brown looked really good. He has guys that dont catch great but he looked good. Their offense reminds me of pittsburg last year with all the jet plays

Yeah - wish he ended up signing here. Though maybe if he does, we lose out on DeVito.

We've played tough on the road against good teams but need to get a road win against FSU or Louisville, not just be competitive. Our guys are cresting at the right time, have had a week to get healthier, and are playing a team that just got beat up and is in disarray. FSU may be dangerous but they're vulnerable and that's as good as I could have hoped for. If Dino can get the kids up for the game so they don't give away the first quarter or half, FSU is a grand opportunity to show we're for real, to the team themselves, to fans, and to our peers. Dino has a good sense for the moment and don't think he'll miss the chance to inspire the kids to the next big win.

Clemson was a big moment for the program but think we're still on an upward trajectory that will result in a bowl game this year, no matter how many wins we finish with. We need two and Florida State is an opportunity to get one of them. LGO!!

^^^ I get it and that's why I started my comments that Cuse could win. So did Jimbo see guys sleeping against Bama? Where guys whooping it up on the sideline with Miami? I think the answer is no to both. I think coaches and team leaders are going to message hard about pride, effort, etc...I think yes we could see States best punch...

FSU is 2-5 but also a play away from beating Miami and UL and probably should have won both. Ala was close into the 3rd and nc sta was tight down the stretch too.

and if you flip those games the BC probably is played with much more energy
