The SEC HQ is in Birmingham. You mean where the SEC is headquartered? Not a good idea.

Ah that’s right relocated there in 2011. Atlanta still would be bad IMHO. Would make more sense further up the eastern seaboard. The SEC HQ is in Birmingham.
There is no other good place on the eastern seaboard. Baltimore, DC, Philadelphia, New York, Boston are all bad choices.Ah that’s right relocated there in 2011. Atlanta still would be bad IMHO. Would make more sense further up the eastern seaboard.
I was impressed with the way they played and the speed on display. If SMU can avoid turnovers they'll have a shot.
That should have been done when they brought Pitt, Syracuse and then Louisville into the conference.
Atlanta would have been a better choice then being in North Carolina.

I don't think he will have the impact across the entire conference that you do, but we'll see.It will work.
Nobody can coach like this guy.
And, he will be very well-funded, meaning he will get talent.
But the mere fact that he chose the ACC tells the college football community and the media distributors that the conference has value and is an entity to be reckoned with
He will impact or has impacted how the conference is viewed from the outsideI don't think he will have the impact across the entire conference that you do, but we'll see.
Only thing that will change the narrative is winning consistently against the SEC and Big10. While it certainly won’t hurt I think the impact will be small and the novelty will wear off if he is less than successful in year 1He will impact or has impacted how the conference is viewed from the outside
I have not heard one person say the conference is better since the announcement. All the talk has been questions about whether he can transition from pro to college: how will he recruit, can he teach his complex concepts to college kids, can he navigate NIL. Will he eventually impact the perception of the conference? We'll see. It's all about winning. Without winning, this will all be a blip that is fast forgotten. He will impact or has impacted how the conference is viewed from the outside
Yup. If UNC wins 10 games next season and is competing for an ACC title, then we’ll see.I have not heard one person say the conference is better since the announcement. Otherwise, it’s cool and all, but it doesn’t change the perception of the league.
Having more than one team in the top 10 every season will do that.
Hottest new coach vs iconic best coachUNC at Cuse next year becomes must see TV, and Gameday
In my mind, I see it like George Costanza quitting his job with great enthusiasm on a Friday and then showing up on Monday like nothing happened. FSU is the ACC's Costanza.
I look at fsu saying they didn’t ask to leave like Vinny, in MyCousin Vinny, when he says something under his breath and the judge said what did you say and Vinny said what……
Did you just say that you would recommend your wife to anyone who asks? My goodness you are open minded.Puhleeze.
In a few years Charlotte will be the equal, even perhaps the better of Atlanta.
Huge growth in the time I've been here, and if you fall in love w/ the CLT, you stay loyal. It's not just some podunk town, and in fact, it's almost too laid back- but that's all changing w/ the transplants coming in from NY, Philly, Jersey, Boston, Indy, Chicago, Ohio, etc.
This native NY'er loves my adopted city of Charlotte- met my wife here, and would recommend it to anyone who asks.

You really are missing the point.I have not heard one person say the conference is better since the announcement. I'm not missing the point. I understand what your opinion is. Mine is different. Amongst all of the national sports talk I've watched, nobody, not one person has talked about this being unquestionably impactful for the ACC. People on here are. In the national media so far it is a mixed bag of some that think he'll be successful in college and some question whether he can relate to college players. People on this board are absolutely obsessed with the ACC getting respect and will grasp on to anything they think does that. If he is Saban it will help the ACC. But other teams have to do their part. Bobby Bowden was a legend and when it was only FSU and Clemson, the ACC didn't get much respect. The league has to be more than a 1 or 2 team league regardless of how high profile one of the coaches is. If UNC can be a part of that, then yes, it could be a big deal. Regardless, if the SEC continues to eat the ACC's lunch in head to heads, it will not matter how many superbowls one of their coaches has.You really are missing the point.
Everybody is talking about Belichick coaching - in the ACC.
That’s a good thing.
And ever week next fall the football world will be watching Belichick- in the ACC.
Sorry, but you really seem to be a bit of a downer.
The problem with the ACC is in the 80's and 90's Miami, FSU, Virginia Tech, Syracuse all were good then Shalala deep sixed Miami, we screwed up with Nancy, and Virginia Tech fell. Bobby left FSU, and it's been mostly Clemson since.I'm not missing the point. I understand what your opinion is. Mine is different. How am I a downer because I'm taking a wait and see approach?
Yeah, I agree with a lot of that. From what others have said, our problems preceded Nancy, but she screwed up more while failing to address what had already led to the erosion up to that point. It looks like us and Miami may be starting to pull our weight. SMU may be a sleeping giant that's waking up. Making a run in the playoff would help, but they need to schedule better OOC games early in the season. We need wins against highly ranked OOC teams to change the reputation of the conference. The only team to do that recently was Clemson and they failed at it this year. We (the conference) have opportunities next year to do it. Let's take out Tennessee and do our part. The problem with the ACC is in the 80's and 90's Miami, FSU, Virginia Tech, Syracuse all were good then Shalala deep sixed Miami, we screwed up with Nancy, and Virginia Tech fell. If the 4 schools I previously mentioned get their act together, and Pitt, Louisville, and Georgia Tech get where they should be the problem would be solved.
Left out SMU, but they might be great in a couple of years.
I agree with a lot of what you and Bob said as well. I'd like to add a few things and see what y'all think.Yeah, I agree with a lot of that.
