Class of 2025 G Alex Wilkins (MA) Portal to Kentucky

We need to hit a hr on either pt or center. The one that isn't the hr has to be pretty good too. If we can do that, we can have a good team with the pieces we currently have. We have top figure on Anthong and White makinga jump. If they don't, we are hurt. Doty has to be that guy that we all love doing all of the little things. And 3M has to be a player.

Wilkins and Dual would be a very solid combo at PG. Just hope there is cash to add a high quality center and a wing scorer. I could get on board with that.

You won’t get all 3….

If we get Wilkins I don’t think we add another perimeter scorer.

PG: Wilkins/Dual/depth piece
SG: Doty/Dual/Kiyan
SF: MMM/Kiyan

The main priority would be a big.

If you get Wilkins the move after would be Mayes more than Tobiason but I presume one of those two will happen first but who knows.

Big question for me is MMM, both monetarily and readiness to contribute. Said this on another thread, but he could be anywhere from All-ACC Frosh to a developmental piece and I wouldn’t be surprised.

Agreed.

I am excited about landing 3M, but his readiness level to contribute this year is the unknown.

Also, it doesn't sounds like he is much of a rebounder, so he is probably going to need to be a 2. But it sounds like he isn't much of a defender, so that might be a challenge.

Also, Doty is a 2.

Ditto Kiyan.

Maybe we play full court defense, and positions will prove to be somewhat irrelevant in GMac's / Brunt's defensive system. Time will tell.

I'm assuming they go with a three-guard lineup. Dual at PG, Doty at one of the wing positions, and ???. White at 4, player to be named later at the 5.

Givony compared to MMM to a HS McDonald’s all-American…. Remember this is a guy our fan base had never heard of but Givony had for months….

We don’t know if he will contribute right away but GMac may feel he’s ready and may been banking on that. It sounds like several high major programs were on him. This isn’t like Fennell.

Especially with Tobiason committed, I just don’t see how Wilkins fits anymore. I still think we get a backup PG but I assume Dual will start. Some Combo of Doty/Tobiason/Kiyan/MMM at the 2/3. If you add Wilkins he instantly starts at PG and just clogs the PT even more Dual going to the bench.



Even if MMM isn’t ready … I think GMac has his group of guards and wings. Moesech being the main backup for Dual worries me - maybe we get another experienced depth piece. Maybe gmac thinks Doty can handle some PG? Idk …

There are two Germans in the portal that are worth considering. Reibe and Fru
 
Realllllly want this kid. Get this kid to be the starter at PG, Dual backs him up, then Moesch behind Dual.

Tobiason and Anthony at the 2
Doty and MMM at the 3rd guard spot.

I reallllllly like that 1-3 position if we get Wilkins and Moesch. Just need a solid starting center. Folefac to back up Sadiq. Then maybe someone like Petar as a combo 4/5 as a 3rd string for the 4 and 5.

Is a really good 1-4. Solid center that can get us 10ppg 8rpg and 1.5bpg and I’m really liking that lineup

I think they have a real shot if they poney up like you said. A lot of schools that have interest in him can’t guarantee him a starting spot like we could…
