It just seems like a necessary signing. Neither good or bad. Just necessary to fill out the roster with a 5th/4th guard, with someone I assume is fine with that role. I assume the NIL is minimal

I’d also add that he’s a lefty but can also shoot floaters with his right hand

Some dumbasss posted his Evan Miya and all his efficiencies like 5 mins after the announcement bashing him. As if they mean anything in the Mountain West and Juco leagues. He's 6'4 and 25 years old and it not injured. All 3 of those things are big upgrades.

The chance to get a masters at a prestigious university for free is life changing. If they gave him 1% of what they are paying Freeman, that’s way more than your average college student makes at work study…Life changing is enormously mutable in definition. My boss once called our annual bonuses “life changing.” I can’t be sure about his, but mine… wasn’t. :rolleyes:

Another poster who has been here 8 years, less than 950 total posts, and only comes here annually to be annoying about recruits. Go find somewhere else to be.

If he stays healthy and can practice everyday he gives us more then Chance did in 2 years.

Why wouldn't they?

I have no problem bringing him on as basically a walk on, but his negative metrics in one of the worst conference in America (Big Sky, NOT Mountain West) would suggest he's literally not close to ACC level.

As a glorified walk on, practice guy, 12th man...all good.

No need to freak out. Agreed on all counts.

But any suggestion he could actually play is insane. I thought we all learned from last offseason.

That’s so not true. Not at all who I am. I love Syracuse basketball but I also have my own opinions. I’m usually very optimistic about recruits. I want us to be great every year.
We have been in a major rut lately and that tends to turn people a bit skeptical about everything. Me for sure.
As for going somewhere else, where do I go? I love this place. I love to interact with fellow Syracuse fans, hard to do when you live in Ky.
At the end of the day we all want the same thing.

So are we like, done taking people if we are filling the back end of the bench? This is not a tournament roster right now if the starters are who they are. Defense is still a major issue and the offense basically only comes through Kingz. I know we will getmroe people, but we need another top end starter

I don't know that and neither do you. The offense only goes through KIngz? Freeman can't step up? He is a double figure scorer. JJ with a top flight pt guard? A solid pt guard. We may not be good. But right now, we don't know how we will look. Good or bad. And I would be shocked if we added another front end starter. Unless Deng comes aboard and is a starter.

I was one of the people commenting last night wondering if this was a mistake but after watching some highlights and interviews, I think this can be a positive addition to the roster. Sure, he won’t play major minutes on a good team but he can contribute in a lot of ways, including off the court. Imagine Kyle Cuffe but 6’4…I know his defensive metrics were scary but it does seem he is a good defender (eye test). I hope people give him a chance and Syracuse lands one more big time player to make this a great portal class
 
Would it shock you guys that this guy so many ppl are crapping has actually been to the Tourney. He didn’t play last year in the game but was on the team. This Montana st team was in the tourney 3 years straight years from 22-24.

How many of our guys from the last few years sniffed the tourney. Not many.
