Gawd this is a ridiculously talented team

All the pieces are there to be dominant... isnt it time we didnt have a giant pothole to veer us off course for once?

Orangezoo, I wish you hadn't have said that.

yeah- i dont think jinx is at play here considering the year after year stuff that has gotten in the way at some point in the season the last several years.

We definitely had reservations about Dajuan and Rak prior to their arrival. While they were somewhat colored with orange to make them a little less concerning, there is very little in terms of concerns about Roberson leading up to his arrival. Kid has the full package from everything I have seen as well as others have mentioned. Now that of course guarantees nothing but I don't see him taking long to make his imprint.
If Roberson adds nothing else but the ability to rebound for this season, that alone would be huge.

And fortunately for us, rebounding is one of Roberson's strengths :) There were at least a few games last year where he pulled down 20+ boards.

We gotta find a way to get Roberson some time at the duece. Cj and Grant are too good to take off the floor. You guys think he can play the 1,2 or 5 spots?

Pffffft.

But seriously those 3 for those 2 spots... crazy good.

I agree with a lot of what's been said in this thread so far. I feel that the forward positions are our biggest strength this year, and we're definitely going to lean on them more than in the last few years for offense given what we have at center and in the guards on that end of the court. I think Ennis will get his, but I don't see him regularly going off for 17 or 18 points. If he does, I'd have to imagine that he'd be one and done. The SG spot is where the biggest question mark lies, IMO. Hard to really know what we're going to get from Cooney, Patterson, Gbinije, or anyone else JB throws in there until we've gotten several games under our belt. My hope is that Cooney finally delivers what we've all been hoping for from him. Just one legit sniper will do wonders for Fair and Grant to operate inside. It's been WAY too long since we've had one of those guys, and the last time we did, we had TWO of them on the court at once in Andy and Wes.

I don't want this to sound like I'm putting Roberson down, because I'm not. All I know about him is what I've read on here and the recruiting sites, as I haven't seen him play yet. If he is the beast with no flaws that everyone on here is portraying him as, why wasn't he rated higher and a MAA? His description by many make him sound like Donte Green talent.

Can't be looking at rankings bro. Check out who wanted him : Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse. Mcds just missed on him. He owner the Jordan regional game. Hes not juliis randle. But he will be solid /good this year. And Borederline lottery pick next year. Hes like grant (not in terms of the way they play, just ranked similarly and both awesome as shizz).

I did notice the offers. Thanks for the info.

I could see Roberson barking at Rak or DaJuan if they are watching rebounds go by them. He seems like a guy with that natural 'motor' which is often lacking here. Ricky, to a certain extent Paul, and Warrick are the only guys I can really think of in recent memory who would really go after those boards.

Oh god I hope this is true. Nothing drives me more off the wall than watching players who just "coast" out there. If Roberson has half the motor of Baye, with his talent, he will surely be a player to watch out for.

Kong gave 100% effort for any and all rebounds and loose balls. He wasn't a skilled player but always gave everything he had.

Bank it. I've seen Roberson play; he gives great effort and runs the floor very well. Also, The Beast Incarnate is a very skilled shot blocker too. That's the most underrated aspect of his game. Great timing as an enforcer. Also, keeps the ball in play and then wants the ball to finish the breaks he starts with his blocked shots. He'll be a lot of fun to watch, hopefully for 2-3 years.

i know the centers take a lot of flak but i wouldn't trade our 3 for any other programs.

Agreed. We may not have the best center in the nation, but we have the best centers in the nation. That's good enough for me and combined with our 3 forwards...oooof!

I look at it like a baseball platoon. But instead of two guys, we have three. When you add up the production we are going to get at the position ever game, it should stack up well with anyone in the country. Our 3/4s are going to be filthy.

and don't forget 15 fouls to give . going into the whiny flopfest called the ACC i'm sure foul trouble will become an issue. that scenario is what worries me most with the thin backcourt and only ennis at true point.
